Just watched highlights of Millwall 2 - 3 Scunthorpe in the 2009 play offs that saw Scunny promoted to the Championship. Then it struck me that both Scunny and Yeovil have a worse record than we. Yes, we might have the worst record of those still in the EFL, but survive by there always being two worse….. |

It was actually a 04:30 alarm Gerry. I will apologise now for not setting my alarm for 03:30 next weekend for an 04:30 departure to Fleetwood. Regrettably, I must watch on TV as on the Sunday I have another long journey and it’s just too much. CUSA has formally complained via the Football Supporters Association that two consecutive long away journeys for 12:30 kick offs, and then a Friday night trip to Crewe is utterly unreasonable. But nobody gives a S H 1 T about real fans. |

Fair comment Wessex. But I wonder if we will see any of them again. There were 18 BSM Trophy fixtures on Tuesday, of which five had attendances under 1,000, including Wycombe v Crawley (723), Morecambe v Carlisle (788). The latter perhaps illustrates the fan lack of appetite for the competition. Remarkably, the three best attended were…. Colchester v Arsenal 4265 (over 1,000 Arsenal). Lincoln v Man City. 3,055 Huddersfield v Man Utd 3,032. I am now beginning to wonder if many that left early were Arsenal (or Ipswich) fans not wearing colours that had bought tickets in the South Stand. However, it defies logic that we had the largest gate of the evening by such a huge percentage. There were, however, patently large groups from local junior football, many of which seemed reluctant to participate in any way and most were glued to their phones. [Post edited 13 Nov 19:32]

I reckon dozens of free tickets given to local youth teams Gerry. Not proper U’s supporters as these large groups in the South Stand started leaving way before the final whistle. Nice to see a decent performance, but Arsenal were poor. No wonder Premier League clubs buy in so much overseas talent. |

Looks like dozens of free tickets have been given to local youth football clubs. West, South and North Stands pretty full. The U’s well on top. |

Swindon, Morecambe and Carlisle all winning or already won. Same old shite in front of me. The only saving grace might be Barrow have expended huge amounts of energy compared to Col U. Is that because we are slow and unfit, or are managing energy resources better? Tovide? We need to gamble…. |

As one of said 28 on CUSA bus still an hour away I am vaguely optimistic. Barrow have recently hit the buffers and the football gods can’t keep dealing us shite referees, bad fortune, injuries and others in the Cowley book of prolific excuses. [Post edited 9 Nov 12:30]

On my way home and seething…. 1. Why take Taylor and Anderson off given nobody else will score. 2. Why Hunt & Flanagan when Egbo, Kellerher and Goodrich are fit? 3. Read simply looks bewildered. 4. Matt Jay must have done something very wrong. Cowleys out! [Post edited 2 Nov 17:59]

Given all the hype and the baloney coming from the Chuckle Brothers I demand better. The most loyal fans typically spend over £4,500 per annum following this dross, home and away, and deserve better after 15 years of continuous decline under Robbie Cowley. Something must be fundamentally wrong. We sell off the silver (Fevrier & Bradley) in the Summer; Edwards & Tovide get injured, and now we find Thorn is cup-tied! How was that allowed to happen! Owned by a recruitment agency, we should have better succession planning, and that applies as regards managers. A mistake was made when we recruited all the Ipswich has-beens only looking for a final pay cheque. Now it’s been repeated with Lincoln and Portsmouth cast offs. Fed up with the despair!!!!! |

Ah, the pink pills. That’s the Bedknobs & Broomsticks fantasy Ray. Had you taken the blue pills it would have been Mary Millington rather than Angela Lansbury dressed in the nurse’s uniform…. |

No, but made a cash donation that will be matched by CUSA. Further donations will be accepted by CUSA pre-match tomorrow in the fan-zone lounge. A prize draw will be made rewarding donors en route to Swindon. Prizes include signed memorabilia and hospitality match tickets. |
