| News Comment | Scorching first half enough to see through QPR's latest City win - Report at 23:50:10
Excellent stuff. Your match reports are the best way to round off a winning weekend (or even a losing/dawing one). At 2-0 there's often a feeling of "next goal wins", but to be honest for once I didn't feel too nervous even at 2-1. Sure we had a bit of a clumsy period with players kicking the ball into each orher, or getting in each others way, and sure City could have managed another spwany goal, but the energy in the team was fantastic, both in the pressing and in the defensive work in our own half, and I felt were were as likely to get a third as concede a second. The Seny incident was a worry at the time, but even that added to the entertainment. Also really appreciated Dykes' efforts when he came on. He was just what we needed at the time, puttung himself about and bullying the back three. First half was phenomenal as you said, with Seny's save and our dominance that followed, and the support was fantastic. Alll in all a great day out. |
| News Comment | Adomah and Ball reach into the fire to grasp unlikely point - Report at 16:08:51
Great to see the turnaround in the 2nd half, although still fortunate to get the draw in the end. Still, who doesn't like to see an injury time QPR equaliser? A bit concerned about the injuries beginning to rack up - as you pointed out last season, we did well to avoid that last season through good management and I suppose an element of luck. Obviously be a much changed team against Oxford, but I hope it'll give Thomas and Dozell an early chance to get back out there. |
| News Comment | The perks of being a QPR fan - Report at 13:11:30
Brilliant report as ever, and so glad you mentioned Kakay's incredible tackle to win the ball back for the 3rd goal. Seemed to get missed in all the other reporting I've seen. |
| News Comment | QPR blow Forest hoodoo out of the water — Report at 22:11:45
Thanks for a great report. I’ve been a QPR fan for 45+ years, and in my time I’ve followed them far and wide, but oddly never been to the City Ground. Until yesterday 😊. What a day. What a commanding defensive performance. What a win. Would’ve been nice to see the ball sticking at our end of the ground a bit more 2nd half, and I feared the worst when Eze had missed the opportunity for 2-0 (to be fair I think the chasing defenders were blocking the square ball option, but I hoped he would shoot at least), but everyone put in such a shift and it was just brilliant at the end. Team and fans alike should take a bow. |
| News Comment | QPR? Don't Make Me Laugh at 16:39:26
If you can guarantee anything, it's that there's going to be lots of speculation in the press in the next couple of months about players QPR are rumoured to linked with! Personally, I'd love to see AW at QPR - it would be the sort of signing that would show we've learned our lesson from last time around - but I can't see him leaving Swansea for us. |
| News Comment | ‘And Fenwick was in there…’ - QPR at Wembley 1982 at 12:51:34
Great memories. For me, the final and the replay were great days out and a real occasion, but it's the memory of the semi final that still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I was on the North bank, too high up to be able to see the goal go in, but when Allen scored the place just went bananas, in a way that only terracing allows. Just brilliant. |
| News Comment | QPR finally cut loose and demolish in-form Ipswich — report at 18:40:36
Great report. Like you say, first goal was key. Once Niko scored we started to play more freely, and Ipswich seemed to lose all belief. I still can't understand how a professional footballer finds it so hard to take a corner. Joey was practicing dead-ball delivery when the team were warming up earlier, and even then it never got more than about 3 feet off the ground. bizarre. Thought the atmosphere was great, even during the goalless first half. A fun day out, and even more so with the chavs in cabbage-patch corner being ejected one by one |
| News Comment | QPR cling on to top flight status after amazing day of reckoning — report at 19:36:35
Just want to add my thanks for your brilliant reporting this year, finished off with this fantastic article. So many laugh-out-loud bits in there, but then laughing is suddenly very easy after Sunday! Congratualtions on your award too. Well deserved. Looking forward to reading more next season - hopefully less about sending offs and the like. I wonder if Warnock would sign Barton again. Hmm. Maybe not. |
| News Comment | QPR hope to avoid more self destruction as Everton visit — full match preview at 20:43:53
My daughter has been giving me funny looks while I cry with laughter at the review. The bit about the players and their wives - just brilliant - and "The man holding the red card this week is Kevin Friend". I mean, I know it's not a funny situation. We're toast, and it's a kick in the nuts, but you do write some good stuff I agree with your view on SWP and JB. Far and away better than some of the rubbish we've had to put up with over the years, but well below their best and never giving the impression that they have any personal stake in keeping the club up. Joey Barton in particular only seems committed to the Joey Barton show. In spite all of that, I actually fancy us to get something out of tomorrow but like you say I think the run in after Bolton will be too much |
| News Comment | Terry race row escalates - Tuesday diary at 20:10:59
"It’s a shame really that all this is overshadowing what was a fine result for Rangers". Says it all for me. I know it's always a bit of a circus at QPR, but this week it's just grown and grown Make no mistake, it was a great win on Sunday - Proud of the team, proud of the fans - and I've had a good couple of days on cloud nine but, like any result good or bad, the team have to move on and turn attention to the next game and I worry we're setting ourselves up for a big fall at Spurs. Hopefully the continued media storm will help the team keep that spirit going from Sunday, but I do worry that it might just become too much of a distraction. |
| News Comment | Match with history of legendary players, and amazing games — fixture history at 23:10:00
Ah memories. I was there in the Loft for the 5-5 too. Unbelievable day. All down to bringing Stewart on at half time - great player, and gave us more width to attack them. Anyway, enough history. Should be a good game Monday - I'm looking forward to seeing the new boys in action - and the old boys of course - and hopefully getting us a good win. |
| News Comment | FArce hangs over final day celebrations — full match preview at 20:42:29
First off - thanks Clive for your brilliant reporting on what has been a brilliant season. This is the first place I come to for my QPR fix, and I often send a snippet or two to other fans who can't reach the site from their work PCs (bizarre what some companies block). I'm as frustrated and bemused about the FA's fannying about as everyone else, but tomorrow is about the team and the manager and recognising them as true champions on the pitch, regardless of what the FA do later. I'm sure we'll all sing our hearts out, and I hope that the team can do themselves proud once again in spite of everything going on. You never know, if we open up a 10+ point gap on Cardiff the FA might have the result they are looking for - a 10 point deduction that they can argue shows a tough stance, while not actually affecting the promotion picture. Fingers crossed URRs |
| News Comment | This Week — Hello darkness my old friend at 12:46:31
I must admit, when I heard that we were being charged over "transfer irregularities" I thought it was that we had paid £1m for Rob Hulse! On a serious note - will Faurlin still be able to play for us while these charges are being heard? |
| News Comment | Late Miller show steals points — full match report at 11:30:19
Don't know how many times I logged in on Sunday in anticiaption of seeing your report, and it doesn't disappoint. I felt nervous again reading it, until the point where MIller scores. Just brilliant. Couldn't believe the other results, and going 8 points clear. Not over yet though - Happy to celebrate today, but back to nailbiting tomorrow night. |
| News Comment | LFW Awaydays — Middlesbrough, Riverside Stadium at 16:14:32
I've missed the Awaydays reports - and this is an absolute cracker. Were the rest of the team on the train, or had they hit Middlesbrough for a big night out to celebrate? |
| News Comment | Helguson’s brace sets up Riverside romp — full match report at 21:18:43
Really enjoyed the report. So good to hear Buzaky was back in the starting line-up, and straight back into playing so well. Also good to hear about the fans and team together on the train - you often said last year about the feeling of a disconnection between fans, team, manager(s) and the club in general, but we've come such a long way since then. |
| News Comment | Tuesday Diary — Warnock sees positives, Smith century, Shittu goal at 21:59:06
The papers are full of Spurs getting a late away goal on Tuesday, and Arsenal getting a home win against all the odds tonight - but I'll take Burnley and Scunthorpe's efforts every time. Makes Saturday's draw a good point gained. Maaarvellous. |
