I agree with almost all you post mate, but not here. Just because he wants a bit more money, doesn’t mean we should fk him off.
It’s fair to want more, yet he’s not stropping or being sly, he’s being totally honest and openly saying he wants to wait until he sees if others are willing to match his ideas. He’s not closely linked to the club, so really doesn’t have any other ties, yet still would prefer to stay with us than move, as he’s stated this many times.
Our owners are known to be stinjy as hell, yet our players are at fault for wanting to negotiate 🤷♂️ He hasn’t said he’s not going to sign at the rates he was offered, just that he wants more time. Totally fair imo and I really hope we manage to convince him,
Yeah I can see where you’re coming from, but he’s got no real connection to the club, so it’s natural to be more self centred about these things in that case.
I agree he went about things the wrong way last time, but being a bit naive and then a bit stroppy doesn’t make him a bad guy or someone who would intentionally harm them club (I know you didn’t say he’s that).
I agree he should take the 1 year, as that’s normal procedure at his age. But if he thinks he’s worth more money than they’re offering, then that’s a different story. He deserves to be up there with our highest paid imo. If he’s not, then he’s got the right to look elsewhere, especially as it’s likely close to his last decent contract.
Surely it’s common practice, not to reduce the wages of your best players? He should at least get a small increase, in line with other staff/players, but also IMO another small boost due to his abilities and form. Let’s be honest, take out that blip when he was stropping and he’s probably been by far and away our best performer who is still at the club.
“ And when the forbidden months have passed, kill the idolaters wherever you find them and take them prisoners, and beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they repent and observe Prayer and pay the Zakat, then leave their way free. Surely, Allah is Most Forgiving, Merciful.”
To me that smacks of a bible story. When God said to kill all who worship idols and statues. It’s basically the exact same story.
Aye, but not all players need a reduction. I’m not aware what Pato is on, but he’s consistently one of our stronger and most reliable performers, in multiple positions.
33 may be a bit of a push for a longer contract, but we definitely should not be reducing his wage surely? Can’t blame him for leaving if that happenss
It is a risk, and you’re right LW will have no excuses…but there’s not many who bang in as many as this lad, at any level. He’s clearly a higher level than L2. And by a stretch by the look of his stats. Same as Jones. Whether that level is the Championship yet is the risk.
Langstaff in his prime, but a bidding war probably won’t go our way. Jones a bit younger so more time with him.
But I agree totally. If Rushworth doesn’t come back, we need a permanent signing. If he doesn’t come back, that will probably mean they sell him for upwards of 20m. We have one of the best gk coaches in the land, yet we are not putting him to work on our own players. Well we are, but not out main one.
I’ve already said, if they stopped their targeting of civilians and went back to how they used to work, yes. I don’t agree that they wanted to wipe out Israel. Maybe they do now, if the quotes are true.
But I still maintain, Israel are way worse than Hamas.
Just found out that Israel is the grape capital of the Middle East. Yes, Israel. And they allow pedos from US and around the world to move there, to continue their crimes against Palestinians.
I am happy with LW now, but I would have preferred Davies at the point where we had no manager. It’s terrible that he turned us down and took a lower job imho. That’s the fault of our owners.
