First time back for a while and really enjoyed that!
I can't remember such a hard working, committed R's side, but committed and clever with a real discipline and cohesion throughout.
I'm not really a fan of McClaren but credit where credit is due, he is doing a really good job, especially after such a start, and it shows the mark of the man that he has got on with it and has not only kept the players onside but seemingly galvanised them.
Also the atmosphere was decent again, got behind the team and the constant whinging and sniping seems to have gone (for now), the sound of grown men whinging like feeble, self-obsessed junkies grated too much and when a day at the football costs a oner nowadays, I found it hard to justify going, especially with work and family commitments.
Now, I don't want to get carried away, I still think we will finish lower mid-table and that means some poor performances and results along the way, but as long as we don't start throwing our toys out the pram again, we will be fine. The players seemed to really appreciate the support and it most definitely lifts their game.
We all know negativity is counter productive to the team and in recent years I've seen our supporters refuse to celebrate goals as it goes against the poisonous rhetoric they had been spewing, pathetic really.
Last night was like these fabled old days of almost glory and their is no feeling like being at LR, under the lights and with fellow R's singing, joking and being as one, there is no better place to be.
Finally a shout out to Dave Barton, I wrote a small thing for AKUTRS recently, it is a huge honour that he used it, please support him and the fanzine. It's a part of QPR as much as a munch at Cookes was.
There are far better writers on here daily than I'll ever be, please have a go and send him some stuff and of course, keep buying the mag, I don't think any of us can quite fathom the commitment and effort it takes to do what he does, he deserves a lot of credit and of course, our support.

I was in a pub recently where this English bloke was giving it the usual b0ll0cks about 'Sweaties' this and 'Jocks' that.... referencing park benches, heroin, ponces and how England keeps the Scottish alive 'they'd be dead without us' etc.
I was sitting with my family who are Scottish so had a word in his ear. He then proceeded to tell the whole pub that the 'jocks HATE US' and rubbish like 'they're obsessed'.
This board and the country has become like that in recent times.
The sniping on here during the World Cup towards every Johnny Foreigner and even the England team (who I thought were magnificent) was sad to read.
This board used to be so much fun.... |

I follow Portuguese football and was at the Lisboa Derby recently, the cup final was a fun match but Sporting are in huge trouble right now and their fans were kicking off during the match yesterday.
That Miss from Dorst though, wow! Open goal, 2 yards out, hits the crossbar, never good, but especially not when your side are behind in a cup final and time is running out. [Post edited 21 May 2018 8:43]

I think I'm gonna leave this site alone from now on.
Posted on here and it's previous incarnations since 2005, on and off and it just winds me up these days.
A lot of the people I know and like stopped posting ages ago and it only seems to be a minority who don't spend their time taking great pleasure in any failings that Ramsey has or spouting right wing propaganda.
All free choices, but just not what I originally signed up for.
I apologise for my part in making this thread as tedious as all the other political / religious ones that have been on here before.

Personally, I'd go to a shop. If they can't unlock it for any reason, they won't charge you. If they do unlock it, it's done on the spot. |

You like to make snidey remarks from behind a keyboard and feel good about it. I don't like that, I also don't like you trying to get involved in something that you don't seem to comprehend either.

We are talking about the refugee crisis and as far as I know, none of the Syrian refugees (unless you have evidence) have done these things. Did a couple of 6 year old Kurdish boys take down the twin towers? Or are we generalising over colour of skin and religion (Kurds aren't Muslim, but hey).

No, I said that the comments were racist in my opinion, I also stated that I wasn't calling Steve a racist and was sorry if he felt I was, he hasn't been in here, only you have been.
Why you getting involved in something that wasn't involving you, unless you are trying to get personal with me?
