Just don't think he should be played as a two, without someone really sitting deep. He's too prone to losing it in tight situations. Grimes to start in midfield, with Fer and Celina. |

I'd be surprised if CR isn't playing in the PL next year. He reminds me of Andrew Robertson, who went from Hull to Liverpool. Great athlete and has an eye for a goal too. Really should be getting at least 10 million for him if he ever went, though, so i really hope he doesn't leave for cheap in Jan, or free in Summer. |

Fully agree. Feel for a long time one of our biggest issues has been a lack of players capable, or unwilling, to drive hard up the field with the ball at their feet. With Mcburnie playing a support striker role, he can do that. Add Fer and Celina and we are much stronger there. I thought Byers showed promise today too — has bit of an edge about him and linked well with Ollie. [Post edited 29 Sep 2018 17:10]

Paid my 14.99, but saying it's not available here (Singapore), even though I watched the first games, albeit with delays. Really frustrating. |

Everyone wants us to win games — that's a given. It's more a question of framing the question. Under Sousa, we had a relatively high finish, but i have no doubt that had we gone up we would have found it harder to be competitive in the PL. Go up with Potter with a young team, fine, who wouldn't want that? But can we guarantee that we would stick with the manager even through tough times? Struggle and sack him by December '19 and we're back to where we started. Alternatively, play well with a defined style, retain the team and go up the year after with experience? On paper, I know what I'd want if that assurance was there. For me, it's about time we started to think long term again. Were we to go back up, we might look to Burnley keeping Sean Dyche the season they were relegated. [Post edited 17 Aug 2018 12:08]

Along with a great goal, I thought Fulton did really well today. Joe R must be buzzing after that debut too. Time to bring in two or three loans this week. Super subs by Potter too, thought Fer really swung the game back toward us. |

Celina looked very promising. He gets a lot of stick, but thought Tom C played some nice stuff today. Well managed by Potter too. At 1-1, the pressure was on them to go for it. That played into our counter attacks and Montero was different class. |
| Forum Reply | Players coming in at 10:10 14 Jun 2018
Crazy thing is even if they have a 50% pay cut, Championship wages given the parachute payments still gonna be more than a lot of teams playing in Europe. Those coming to the end of their contracts could still play a year and then make up the difference by signing as a free agent the following year, plus if we get promoted they'd potentially be back playing PL. So I don't think it's going to be simple to offload players who'll not be targeted by other PL teams. I can see quite a few staying, even players like A Ayew, Fede and Borja. |

I think we'd have been OK. Fer would have some terrible games. The thing is, he can also have games where he really drives forward and carries the ball upfield. He's not perfect by any means, but he'd only have needed 2 or 3 performances in the 9 or so we failed to win at the end to have made a difference, IMO. Hope Fer can contribute next season. I'd like to think Bony might have made a difference to the Southampton game, but you got the feeling his injury was less about bad luck in one game and more his overall shape is poor. I think relying on Bony coming back fit is too big a risk. |

Would be my team too. Feel it's easier to try and change the game up a notch if we're not getting chances to break through, rather than to start too open and allow them to sneak a first half goal. Tom C in for Fer and Tammy on for Nathan at 60mins if it's still 0-0. |

What an earth does post war austerity have to do with the way people identify? the world is a big place and there's room enough for everyone. |

While I think our transfer policy has been terrible, we have some good passers and I expect better from them too. Ki, Mesa, Sanchez and Tom C all have potential to play quick passing football and I can't understand why Clement has us to negative. [Post edited 23 Nov 2017 14:26]

I really wanted Clement to succeed. Not just because of wanting the Swans to win, but I think our problems go far beyond who's in the role. However, some of his team selections are just bizarre and he seems to have no real understanding of how to change the game once in motion. Best we make the change now and at least give the next manager a chance to have a look at the team before January. |

If there's one player that sums up our recent team, it's Fer. He has some talent, but is soft and a show up one game in 5 type of player, with 2 relegations already to his name. He's also a Jenkins signing, who hardly showed great form while on loan. That he is comfortably picked in this team is a damning sign of how bad we are. |
