some dire performances there - saito and smyth were bad but Andersen really needs to come off at half time - he’s running around like a (slow) banshee but the moment he gets the ball he immediately gives it to the nearest city player
Steve Cook has been nothing short of immense this season. If there's a better on-pitch leader in the championship then i’d like to see him. We have a young squad now and his constant organisation, encouragement and cover for the rest makes the difference.
Highest paid player at the club and worth every single penny.
this pattern of letting 1st team players leave for normally sweet fa who then go on the warm the bench for struggling/lower league teams, if they get a club at all just underlines how bad our recruitment has been in recent years.
Kakay for example started about 70 times for us mainly through necessity and he can’t get a club at 27.
How long do we have to put up with this kind of irreverent LF related response?
He was DoF on apparently eye-watering wages for 8 years. He hasn't even been replaced and we now feel like a better run club in footballing terms.
I'm sure LF did his best but unfortunately he wasn't up to the job and thankfully he's moved on. If you think differently then you're not paying attention.
if the price is right then sell him. but it needs to be a very decent price because since he’s put the injury woes behind him he looks like a rolls royce centre back at this level.
we were one pulled hamstring in 2024 to either him or Cook away from relegation this season
being offered another season probably hinged on what money he was prepared to accept. I’d like to think that he’s keen to stay in London for family reasons and willing to accept a relatively modest 1 season deal. That together with playing a key role with coaching the young keepers then it probably makes sense.
his first couple of months should be ignored because he came in with no pre-conceived ideas, with a squad low on confidence needing to learn to play to his methods.
He also gave all players a clean slate. It took him a little while to figure out that Dozzell, Kakay and Kelman should be nowhere near the first team or the bench for that matter. Also what we were missing and what our best team looked like.
Since beginning of Feb we've won 8, drew 6 and lost 4 which is a shade below a 50% win rate. That's what I'll judge him on.
