Anyone know what happened on the corner of Uxbridge & Conningham Roads last night at about 7pm, some poor sod lying on the pavement bleeding very heavily & a trail of blood half way down Conningham Road? Don't think it was footie related...... |

I think everyone stood up to be counted today, maybe things are starting to click, but for me today Clint Hill was MoM with an honourable mention to Adel. Defensively we looked much more secure & pressed Arsenal close to the half way line. Would like to see us retain possession a bit more when clearing our lines but I can't see anyone getting less than an 8 in the player scoring ratings today. Chelsea, Liverpool & Arsenal beathen at home, we shouldn't be afraid of anyone now. |
| Forum Thread | Pre-season assessment from Fantasy Island at 09:17 27 Feb 2011
Was just perusing The Guardian website & found a pre-season assessment for this year by Peter Davies of WATRB, ha ha! This season fans' expectations are slightly lower than before. Previously the pre-seasons have been hyped up, which has quickly led to discontent. The transfer business has been particularly uninspiring — with all due respect to the players brought in, they've been out-of-contract free transfers. But, that said, it's still a strong squad and it does seem more bonded and united than before. So l reckon that the season may hold a few surprises. High mid-table looks likely, but a play-off spot isn't totally impossible, especially with Neil Warnock's track record in the Championship. Last season 13th Prediction 8th The new boys We really did expect that better calibre players would be coming to the club, but no doubt a squad is being built with real team spirit. The promotions of Burnley and Blackpool prove you don't necessarily need big names to get into the Premier League. Men to watch Akos Buzsaky should be the star this season. Having seen his determination in pre-season it's obvious he's aiming to get back to his best after two really bad injuries. Jamie Mackie, signed from Plymouth, and Alejandro FaurlÃn should impress, and I think Leon Clarke will surprise a few people. Best youngster Watch out for Josh Parker. Target for the boo-boys We always have a boo-boy. Last season it was Priskin and before that it was Peter Ramage. This season Clarke could suffer unless he scores a few goals, but I think he'll do well. Hate figure Crystal Palace are moving up the league of games that QPR fans most look forward to, along with Millwall and Cardiff. Going up Middlesbrough, Burnley, Reading Going down Scunthorpe, Barnsley, Cardiff |
