Showed Dale up for being so lightweight, a big failing in Jim's teams. One Calvin Andrew would have contributed more than Mitchell and Rodney did together tonight. Why oh why do we sign 6 or 7 samey midfield whippets when we need some muscle and grit for a game like this, games which will occur regularly in this league. Something MRKT clearly can't get its head round. Where is the Gary Jones type leader? Going backwards (literally!) to the tippy tappy sideways backwards at the back in the second half when we're losing, and tippy tappy around the opposition box instead of firing a few shots in - bewildering. Oldham have a corner with 2 minutes to go. We STILL don't leave a man up (Allarakhia would have been ideal) to give the opportunity of a punt / breakaway to equalise because the "coaching manual" says different. Bewildering. Jim says we didn't play with enough passes - there was so much time wasted messing around passing the ball at crucial points in the game instead of acting incisively. Other tactics are available. Apparently "the tension got to us tonight". Why? That should have been dealt with by the manager. "The tension" didn't get to Oldham. Poor post-match by Jim. Blaming a pitch they lost on and Oldham won on isn't a viable excuse. Jim has the potential to be a good manager but he is so slow to learn from mistakes we can all see and are discussed between friends post-match far too often. A wake up call indeed. The ineffectual, attention seeking charade goes on, even though everyone can see through it. Sad that someone should dedicate so much time to such a waste of time. When will the fish on a hook graphic defence be deployed? Should be an interesting game on Tuesday. |

Yes. Certain legalities need sorting out but it'll happen, hopefully within months. |

Given our inability to provide a suitable playing surface TWICE, we should at least be offering refunds and free tickets to Boston supporters, whenever this match is actually played. |

We were assured by the club tonight's game was going ahead. Given recent weather, believable. 5:45 PM sat in Ratcliffes with regulars bouyed by Saturday's superb performance. 15 minutes later, rumours circulate. Rumours are confirmed. Maybe we did have an overly pedantic referee this evening who, surprisingly, called the game off. However, RAFC have given him the opportunity to be overly pedantic (if that was the case) by ignoring their own comments about the pitch at the pre-season Fans Forum. It was said then from the top table that there were problems with the pitch, which was met with surprise by supporters. Five months and several postponements down the line, (some were inevitable due to horrendous weather) we've seen two games v Boston postponed on mild weather days. Even Halifax played tonight! Where was the fix to what was known last August? Do those on the "top table" realise the damage to our footballing fortunes and the reputational damage that has cost the club plenty in waste (trays galore of unsold pies were carried through Ratcliffes to the kitchen) and lost hospitality, again? Are they mithered? Seemingly not. By twenty to eight, not one director (not even the Trust director) showed their face in Ratcliffes to have a conversation with the faithful (and a couple of Boston fans) who stayed behind to support our excellent bar provision. Seemingly unable to run a professional football club and get games on on a sunny day, please can RAFC employ someone who knows how to do so? The current board - volunteers, investors or otherwise - appear incapable of doing so. Fans Forum Thursday y'all. UP THE DALE |

Is the fans forum still on on Thursday? Excellent beer in Ratcliffes tonight pre-non-match. |

Unfortunately, the same BBC mistake is now appearing with Tuesday 28th January as its date. As TVOS has pointed out in another post, Stuart Morland isn't even the match official. The other two NL games tonight have "season so far" stats on their pages, not Dale v Boston. Very poor. [Post edited 28 Jan 2:39]

Yesterday's game (11.01.2025) at giggle lame was postponed due to the weather. So much for their all weather pitch. The thought of bury hosting a Dale game would open the Pandora's Box of their hooligan element wanting to wreck the game / invade the pitch etc etc, fighting with our fans instead of their own fans like they usually do. Antarctica would be a more suitable alternative host for a Dale game than bury. |

The Trust newsletter states, with reference to closing The Sandy for the Stockton game and the pitch, "The Trust hopes during the week beginning 6th Jan to put out a more detailed statement on all matters subject to clarification on the above by the Club." After the game has been postponed and moved out of town. Stable door, horse, bolted. |
