We like to do the "cool" artists, but many of us have grown up with Madge. She has extensive back catalogue, and as she kicks off a big tour, we should never forget her ability to push boundaries, provoke and reinvent herself over the years.
Time for another music thread before the action starts
I've been fortunate enough to go to many gigs over the years and have seen many bands Looking back I realise how fortunate I was to see some legendary bands in what was a short life for either the band or the artist.
But what was the one who got away?
I still can't believe how I managed not to see this band. Even odder, when I saw most of the bands around the scene several times, and one of the best punk albums ever in Germfree Adolescents
Having a clear out and wondered if anyone on here fancied these before I ebay them

My facebook feed seems full of friends seeing ACDC, Springsteen & (dare I say it) Coldplay in vast stadiums. They've paid £100 odd quid a ticket, for a really poor view and a poor sound.
Personally I lose interest when a band gets big and generally prefer emerging first/second album bands before thy hit it big, playing in dark, sweaty rooms with a slippery floor from all the beer spilt, for no more than £30
Each to their own I suppose...but anyone else with me?
I'm your typical 50 year old bloke, but am I the only person on the planet who has NEVER seen a Star Wars film all the way through, not even the original. I just don't get it.
Went to a shopping yesterday...Star wars shit everywhere
My first grandson has been born and will be the third generation hoop. My lad was watching the game Monday night on Sky with his other half. Two hours after the final whistle he was on his way. He obviously heard all the excitement of a brace from Charlie and thought "I WANT SOME OF THIS!".
Too bad the first game with him around is Chelsea away in their current form, but here's hoping for a triple celebration!
As a distraction from recent on the field events, are there any qualified sparks out there that can help?
I currently have a one way single pole one way light switch ( with no neutral feed) controlling a 500w floodlight. I'd like to add another switch so that the same light can be operated from a separate location, but instead of a normal on/off switch at the second location I would like a push button timer. I know how to wire a normal 2 way system, but can anyone advise on how to do this? I don't need a fancy neon indicator on the push button switch, which avoids getting a neutral feed to it, so I'm thinking of a 2 wire switch with only a Live and a Live Out connection.
I've spent a long time googling, but all the wiring diagrams I see either cover 2 normal switches or 2 push button timers...not a combination Thanks in advance.
Now I know that some people love it...all the rumour, all the will they/won't they sign, we've made an approach for x, etc etc , but is there anyone else out there like me...who can't wait for it to end. The way sky sports try and make stories out of everythingy, their ridiculous countdown ticker until the window closes and the endless banal discussion on a never ending number of threads. I suspect I'm a bit old school, not very excitable and a miserable fcuker at heart, but does anyone feel the same?
Peterborough went out of the play offs last night. Go get this fella regardless of what division we are in. Right age/physique/goal scoring machine, and would be able to be sold on if by chance he didn't do well
Never been to see the fireworks along the thames on NYE. Can anyone advise on where the best places are to view from or where there is other stuff going on.
Perhaps this could be stickied for the next couple of days?
Had a company blackberry for last 10 years but about to be made redundant and need to buy a smart phone for personal use.
I don't need or want the latest model, and will be a relatively light user. Not many phone calls, facebook, email, google maps/sat nav......web browsing ......good choice of apps ....that sort of thing
I'm thinking of a HTC which is a year or two old. Any recommendations?
