Revealing article from 6 years ago which explains the highs and lows in his life. I'm glad he made it past 60 and was doing better in the last few years but 65 is still far too young to go. Thanks for highlighting Cider. RIP Tony. |

Think the most appropriate song for yesterday would have been the Leicester fans singing ‘We can’t see you sneaking out’. 😀 |

Very sad news and especially tough for his family and friends at this time of year. It sounds from the FT piece that he lived life to the full but was a dedicated family man and certainly one of our own. Condolences to his family, friends and all the R's fans who knew him. RIP Andrew. |

Interesting on the Arsenal corners routine that Brighton dealt with it at the weekend by leaving three players up towards the halfway line. It meant Arsenal chose to keep four players back. The Arsenal players in the box still congregated at the back post initially but their running/blocking into the goalmouth was not near as effective with less congestion around the goal. |

Amazing that we only conceded two goals in that run and had a positive goal difference of +30 from it. |

Has there ever been a greater contrast between free kick goals in two consecutive home games? The one against Watford - well worked, precision passing from Paal & Morgan topped off by a neat Frey finish. The one against Luton - words fail me, and I certainly can't top Clive's description of it. I feel sorry for Alfie Lloyd who was a shoe-in in to win 'Comedy goal of the season' for his effort against Sheffield Wednesday until Monday night. |

Happy New Year Paul. I bet you are glad to see the back of 2024. Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2025. Hope the R's give us plenty to smile about this year. The first 45 minutes has been a good start! |

Fantastic piece Clive. If you were on trial for the insanity of your devotion to QPR this ‘closing argument’ would see you acquitted. Happy New Year and thanks for all your hard work on this site which is very much appreciated. Hope to catch up soon in the C&S, as I will be restricted to watching on TV today - can’t face another soaking in the East Paddock with a bad cold. A home win today would be the best tonic! |

Would have liked to see JCS tried instead of Madsen to help shore up the midfield with Morgan tiring. I think he could do a job there when we are defending a lead and under pressure. |

Too solid a player for Ange. He seems to prefer that all attack and no-defence type. |

Merry Christmas everyone. Life is never dull following the R's and this message board reflects that with lots of interesting and entertaining discussions. I hope 2025 is a good year for us all and especially the R's. |

Yes. Centre back has to cover Morgan and that helped Jimmy get free at the back post. |

Thanks Saffa. Impressive appearance from the subs bench. Your report captured the excitement of the match and the sheer pleasure of being there as an R's fan. I loved the line, 'Woodman is helpless and dying of thirst as the giant Irishman makes no mistake'. Brilliant! |

I lived there when it was newly built from 1980 - 1985. Never felt that fans cutting through was a problem then, although I am biased and attended all the matches myself. Very convenient as I'd get home in time for the classified results if I left the ground on the final whistle. |

Well deserved recognition for a man who has made a huge difference to so many young lives. Congratulations Dr Mark Prince. Nice to see another one of our own (my footballing hero) Stan Bowles also get a mention when remembering those we have lost in the past year. I just wished they had used a photo of him in the Hoops (in which he excelled) rather than in an England shirt. |
