Bristol airport, as much as I've used it down the years, is not really fit for purpose any longer in terms of the building, parking and surrounding areas. The footfall through the airport now is huge - always overcrowded with ridiculous security check waiting times. The terminal really does need some form of expansion. The increase in traffic around there has made it a bit of a nightmare to get to, plus you have to be careful with the ULEZ zone too (although we once went through it, queried it and didn't have to pay). I'm more than happy to pay £100+ more for the same holiday to fly from Cardiff now (which I am doing in a weeks time funnily enough). A much less stressful experience all-round. Park right outside the entrance, baggage check-in and security in under 15-20 mins. |

It's quite staggering how many parents take their kids out for holidays (7-14 days) these days. It was unheard of when I was at school in the 90s and early 00s...now I see plenty of people going away every year. Even at strange times; first week back, the week before exams, etc. The parents often expect teachers to get their child up to speed and sometimes even put on extra sessions for them. I understand the cost of living thing, we're all affected by it. But these parents don't seem to care how it can potentially affect their child's education...for the sake of a couple of hundred quid. A holiday isn't a right - it's a luxury. |

Even though you do briefly cross into the clean air zone, you don’t need to pay it. I phoned up to enquire about it a couple of weeks ago when I flew from Bristol and they said that I didn’t need to pay anything. This was driving in via the road that goes under the Clifton suspension bridge. |

I'm pretty confident that we'll have enough to stay up but I wouldn't bet my house on it. |

Sauntered about rigs in the middle of the ocean with very little pressure while earning plenty and not contributing much to society. See how this works? |

I’m married to a teacher and we have many close friends in the profession. There’s bad eggs in every profession but the vast, vast majority of teachers are there for the love of educating young people and not for the wrong reasons. My wife could probably double her salary instantly if she went into industry, but it’s not her passion. The job that they do is spectacular, especially with the seemingly increase in poor parenting and behaviour. Plus the increase in poverty and poor mental health. The hate they get is staggering. They are educating our future generation to the best of their abilities and much of their work is ignored by the general public. The whole ‘easy job and long holidays’ tripe that is spouted is an absolute myth…mostly peddled by people stuck in the past who think that teachers are old blokes telling kids to read books while they kick back and read a newspaper. Controversial Jack and the usual suspects always have some kind of chip on their shoulder about education, maybe it’s some kind of jealousy or something. I teach in higher education and you couldn’t pay me enough to teach in a secondary school. They really don’t get the credit that they deserve. [Post edited 17 Feb 2023 23:12]

| Forum Thread | A song for Russell Martin at 08:54 5 Feb 2023
I’m sure that some of you are aware of ChatGPT AI…here’s something I whipped up. Verse 1: There's a man in Swansea who's got a big job to do, Making substitutions and trying to see it through. But every time he tries, oh man, it's such a shame, Russell Martin's got a knack for throwing away the game. Chorus: Russell Martin, he's the man with a plan, But when it comes to substitutions, he's got a different plan. Making changes that just don't make sense, And throwing away wins for Swansea in the football defense. Verse 2: He brings on players that just don't fit the bill, And the team falls apart, it's just so hard to watch and still. They're losing games they should have won with ease, All because of Russell Martin's poor subs and his poor knees. Chorus: Russell Martin, he's the man with a plan, But when it comes to substitutions, he's got a different plan. Making changes that just don't make sense, And throwing away wins for Swansea in the football defense. Bridge: But we'll keep cheering for Swansea, through the highs and lows, And we'll hope that Russell Martin finds a way to grow. Until then, we'll sing this song and hope for the best, And pray that he makes the right subs and puts this game to rest. Chorus: Russell Martin, he's the man with a plan, But when it comes to substitutions, he's got a different plan. Making changes that just don't make sense, And throwing away wins for Swansea in the football defense. Outro: So here's to Russell Martin, and all his substitution woes, May he one day learn to make the right moves, who knows? Until then, we'll sing this song and hope for the best, And pray that he makes the right subs and puts this game to rest. |

That site looks like a load of rubbish tbh. Very much doubt Grimes is on £20k p/w. |

They were always going to reform at some point, putting out tickets at £300 a pop. |

Yeah but think how trendy and edgy you could look pulling a pint for yourself all alone in your kitchen? |

Maybe…they shouldn’t cry about it either. |
