This sort of thing has gone on in the heat of battle since we started throwing rocks at each other. Plenty of examples from Allied forces who served in WW2. It's us or them at the end of day. The jihadi was mortally wounded but probably had enough strength left to pull a pin out of concealed grenade or lunge with a knife. Dead men can't kill. Sgt Blackman was unfortunate in that it was filmed and his choice of words didn't help his cause but, this whole episode is a feckin farce and the kants in Parliament that sent our boys into that environment starved of resources should be on trial not him. |

You are spectacularly missing the point ... Try looking at the wider political vista in the Netherlands in 2017 and compare it to the 70s & 80's |

Blimey, the Dutch motherland used to be a shining light of tolerance, welcoming open arms and liberalism... What could have possibly happened over the last 30 years to change that so dramatically? Edammed if I know eh? 🌈💕👳ðŸ½ðŸ’£ |

Influence on other impressionable simpletons would be limited if he was hung, cremated and his ashes thrown to the four winds... I don't buy into this martyrdom bollox... If you erased enough of these twanges their mouth breathing minions would soon lose track... " Who are we avenging today ?" "Our fallen warrior and brother Mohammed" "Which one man? There's over 900 Mohammeds listed In this Martyrdom Book" *Pause* "Feck it...let's go bowling and grab a pizza" |

I worked for a Japanese company in South Wales during the 80s and learning about each other's cultures and language was seen as building bridges towards mutual understanding within the company, with staff placements in both directions being commonplace and as part of the wider future trade and investment prospects between Wales and Japan etc.. However, most of the older lads and upstart xenophobes like myself, while paying lip-service to this cultural bonhomie in the workplace, when we got down the pub there was definitely a feeling of "We're not going out of our way to do anything for those whale-murdering feckers until they formally apologise for the Burma Railway..." God Bless The League of Nations and All Who Sail in Her.... |

I still remember the babysitter arriving when my Mam and Dad went off to see Shirley at the DD Club in Caerphilly...Great show apparently, they were big fans. I grew up listening to her belting a tune out on the old red Dansette... Happy days... |
