Just looking for a positive (and I agree, it's not easy)... Dhanda and Asoro look like pretty much our best players out there today (along with Jeff in fairness). So maybe recruitment is improving? Maybe?
He should never have joined Bayern so young. Too much pressure, too much hype for a raw talent.
By all accounts that year at Bayern absolutely wrecked his head - I mean, you could see that was the case.
Very expensive gamble to hope he'd snap back to being the player he was in Portugal once he was away from the Munich limelight. Perhaps a different club would have been better placed to make that gamble - we had too much riding on it.
No doubt a better man manager than Clement would have done better, but it might well not have been enough.
No point in assasinating the young lad's character. I'm sure he wasn't thrilled to find himself at Swansea, but deliberately playing badly because he was in a sulk? Can't see it. His head was shot. He may or may not recover. No point in ascribing bad faith.
How about some players that came through elite clubs but have never quite "done it" yet? Might have the technical ability we supposedly want to bring back.
Thinking of players like Alvaro Medran (who I think is out of contract this summer?). Real Madrid, Spain youth, hitting his mid-twenties without having pulled up any trees...
Similarly Joan Angel Roman - Barcelona and Man City, now in Cyprus. Also I think out of contract.
Let's get some rinky dink Spaniards in!
Another thought - Ross Barkley's not going to get back to full force by sitting on the bench at Chelsea, and they're not likely to trust him with much game time (whoever the manager is). Loan?
