*before the massive point deductions to Derby and Reading are applied.
If this is a 'transition', can somebody please, genuinely, explain to me the positive aspects of this transition we have seen as the final third of the season rapidly approaches?
I am baffled that so many continue to not only defend what is happening. |

Yet some continue to think that this is acceptable.
He has taken us from Play Off Finalists to relegation candidates.
He has lowered expectations so significantly that there are those who think "we are where we should be".
This squad should not be level on points with 20th place*.
*if not for Reading & Derby's points deductions. |

In what is usually now the midway point of the season, Russell Martin has taken us from automatic promotion contenders to a club grateful that multiple point deductions across the league have thus far kept us treading water above an active relegation fight.
We are earning fewer points.
We are scoring less goals.
We are creating fewer chances.
We are conducting fewer attacks.
If the second half of the season yields little positive change, do you believe Russell Martin deserves another season in charge?

Once again, our possession of the ball was more than double that of our opponents.
Yet, once again, we only just managed to convert our colossal domination of the ball into more attacks than our opponents
From 67% possession, we yielded just 113 attacks. Yet, from just 33% possession, Middlesbrough yielded 104 attacks.
We had 103% more possession of the ball, yet attempted only 9% more attacks throughout the game. That's scandalous and certainly isn't "exciting football" in my opinion.
It is little wonder we have so many clean sheets despite having such a nonsensical defensive approach. Imagine how many more attacks teams would achieve against us if we weren't aimlessly keeping possession amongst our 5 centre backs for a significant portion of the match.
This isn't exciting football. Too many Swansea City supporters equate possession with "exciting football". I'm hesitant to use the word brainwashed, but some supporters have certainly been conditioned to think this way. [Post edited 4 Dec 2021 17:33]

Make no mistake about it, we are in a relegation battle as it stands.
Two wins in eleven, of which those two wins came in the two matches where we most deviated from the manager's one and only style of play / game plan, which he acknowledged.
We have failed to score in over one third of those games.
We only created more chances than our opponent's in two of those eleven matches (Huddersfield & Hull).
We have a manager consistently selecting players in unfamiliar positions which, as far as I can see, offers no positives. It only harms us (Cabango at wide centre back, Naughton the centre of a three, Cullen as an attacking midfielder, Bidwell as a left winger etc).
It is very worrying. |

"Some children in Bradford "remain unprotected" from sex exploitation, a new report looking into abuse over two decades has said.
The report also detailed abuse set out by another victim, known as Anna, whose social worker recommended she be placed in the foster care of the parents of the man who was abusing her.
While living there, she became pregnant at the age of 15 and went on to marry him in an Islamic wedding (attended by her social worker), which she says was allowed by the authorities.
In 2019, nine men were found guilty of offences including rape and inciting child prostitution after a trial lasting more than six weeks"

Thread | The next decade for Welsh football looks extremely bleak.

Numerous senior players have declined considerably and will be soon retired or are already gone.
Those coming through to replace them are much less talented.
Wales will likely have a small group of players who make the bench or start for mid table and bottom-half Premier League teams (Ward, James and Roberts), however the vast majority will do well to spend their careers playing in England's second tier, with brief spells in the Premier League upon promotion etc.
It is a shame so little was achieved by this generation of supremely talented Welsh footballers. Not even a single World Cup finals appearance. |

First, let's remember Plaid Cymru's party motto...

£744 on ergonomic office chairs, £299,99 on a cordless Dyson vacuum, £78 on coloured pencils amongst other things (including a second home). Total claimed - £175,071.
Dafydd Elis-Thomas
£535.50 and £382.50 on "family travel", £108.98 for a Sat-Nav, £619 for an iPad Pro, £50 for an iPad Pro case, £35 for a dictionary, £4 for a dustpan and brush, further claims for batteries, £885 for a laptop amongst other things (including a second home). Total claimed - £151,775
Sian Gwenllian
£540 to translate a report, £604 for chairs, a second home within walking distance of the Senedd, TWO separate offices in her constituency. Total claimed - £138,726
Llyr Gruffydd
£542 on a gazebo, return flights to Geneva for a University trip, newspapers, media subscriptions, £399 on a paper folding machine, newspaper adverts, and tickets to agricultural shows. Total claimed - £138,726.
Elin Jones
£3,112 on sending a report via Royal Mail, plus £1,722 to print that report. Has she not heard of e-mail? Two wall clocks and a coat stand for £56.35, £692 for office furniture, posting a different report at the cost of £2,833, £345 for somebody to set up her computer and other home working equipment.
There's countless more examples of truly incredible waste and extravagance from Plaid Cymru Senedd Members.
However, my favourite is how Adam Price spent £3,097 (THREE THOUSAND AND NINETY SEVEN POUNDS) one a one-way flight from Palm Springs, California, to London. He said he did this because he, as a Senedd Member, had the power to "shame" Boris Johnson. Yes you read that correctly. He spent £3,097 on a one way flight from California to return to London and "shame" Boris Johnson.
I would like to credit Swansea East's Mike Hedges who looks to be one of few who didn't take advantage of Welsh tax payers. Mike Hedges spent just £29 on a vacuum cleaner for example, not £299 on a Dyson like a Plaid Cymru Senedd Member did.

Thread | Why do fans of Wales' national team have so little pride for their country?

I discovered earlier today that over 50% of Wales' players who featured in their most recent match against Czech Republic were not born in Wales.
Seven of the thirteen (54.8%) players were born in England. Not only that - these English footballers are limited in their talent and ability. England could put perhaps 20+ matchday squads together before some of these players would finally be considered for selection.
I read and hear a lot of non-Welsh football fans ridicule Wales as "England B", however quite frankly it is more like "England T" or "England U".
How many other international teams are this desperate? Perhaps Jamaica? Even the Scot's aren't this desperate (although their best player is English as well).
As someone who follows and supports both England and Wales, it doesn't really bother me. However I'd be interested to hear the opinions of those who regularly express a strong dislike of England. How can you justify your dislike of England when your national team (and club side) is dominated by English footballers? |
