The Ogdens are the majority shareholders and they very generously gave the trust a golden share. As I understand it the Trust have regular meetings with the BOD and solicit questions from fans before such meetings Thus giving all fans (via the Trust) the opportunity to raise issues and challenge decisions/ strategies etc. I have no problem therefore with the changes in the AGM PROVIDED that the Trust are strong enough in these meetings and robustly challenge the BOD where appropriate.
In my opinion the Trusts ability to do this has weakened since the departure of the Trust Chairman and this is more of a concern for me. I know we have a Trust board member in the board room but again in my opinion this is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Maybe it’s time for a change of personnel?
When we do play quickly and in a forward direction from the back it’s good to watch.
Of course it is but we don't do that anywhere near enough thats the problem!!!!! We can all see it - why can't Jim? Maybe he does but doesn't want to change - again why?
Of course we don't do it ALL the time but we do do it a LOT of the time!
Too much as far as I and the vast majority of fans think. Make a mistake in your opponents half and there is a good chance you will get away with it, make a mistake in or around your own penalty area and there is a good chance it'll cost you. Someone mentioned risk / reward but there is far more risk than reward with this type of play - for every example of the winning goal against Halifax there are many multiple examples of the first goal conceded today.
Its unnecassary, its boring to watch and its costing us points. Come on Jim think about it and be honest with yoursef and the players
Interesting - what a web of lies we were spun by Roger! For the benefit of those that weren't there / do not know the story could you please paraphrase what Hendo said about the contract?
Agree with a lot of what you're saying TS but there is one massive factor in all of this which impacts the way we play and that is the tactis of the opposing team.
I missed the Woking game but from what I heard they came at us, played with tempo and left a lot of spaces that we could exploit and this allowed us to (successfully) play the way we did. Many teams coming to Spotland get men behind the ball and slow the game down and that is when we seem to struggle. Its like they bring us down to their level.
Its this that we need to work on - No Fear, with a plan B, a plan C and possibly a plan D!
