If Austin failed his medical due to what showed up in his blood test then why is he not suspended by the FA, i doubt Hull can just turn a blind eye to something like that. Coke is only in the body for a few days so i doubt he was on the sniff days before a medical.

Sadly in both cases (especially Adels) they want out because of Redknapp.
I don't think they want out of QPR, it's just that HR doesn't like them and makes it very clear.
thats bollocks, Taarabt doesn't want to play in the championship, has bugger all to do with Redknapp. I love Adel but it's not Redknapps fault that Taarabt turns up late for training and put weight on last season.

Exactly. We get this every year from Adel before he realises Barcelona aren't ready for him and 'decides' to stay. I don't think it's any surprise that after this relegation that he wants out, it would have been more of a surprise if he'd pledged his future to the club in the championship. I'm a massive fan of his, but there's only so far you can go to keep a player like him happy and i certainly don't blame Redknapp for not indulging him, it could really screw team morale from the start if he carries on whining into the season.

I think that is Redknapp spin, tbh, did not look overweight in the preseason pics, no problems last year with Hughes.
It may well be the case that he does not want to play in the championship, but getting sent home from tour on the eve of ramadan and supposedly being disruptive does not earn you a move, more likely the opposite it puts suitors off

Burnley boss Sean Dyche says star striker Charlie Austin is looking fit and ready to go after his move away from Turf Moor fell through. The former Swindon striker started his third successive friendly on Tuesday night as Burnley beat Tranmere 2-1 and his manager says last season's top scorer, who was set for a move to Hull until issues with his medical, is in good shape ahead of the season opener next weekend. "He's good, he looks fit and well," Dyche told the Lancashire Telegraph. "We're just building him up ready for the season. "From my point of view, I'm delighted (he's still at Burnley). He's a solid boy and it (missing out on his move to Hull) is not the biggest hardship, if you've come from playing for Poole Town, working on a building site. "There's plenty of good things going on for him, and the fact he's fit and well is one of them. "We're still letting the dust settle, we want to get him doing what he does best, enjoy his football and score some goals. "Football has a way of sorting things out one way or another."
So he started his third successive friendly on Tuesday. Certainly sounds like he is crocked, doesn't it? Last 2 seasons, Austin wouldn't have been good enough transfer for most posters on here. Now, given his scoring record, he should be just what we're looking for. Yet still people are unsure of him and his effect he will have on QPR. Maybe there is a bit of the Hooper hangover, as obviously he is a much better player having played in Scotland, so getting second best is simply not enough. Surely now that Man City have bought in new strikers ..........
It's not what you've got; it's where you stick it.

His knee was an operation he had as a kid. Hull being over cautious after the jimmy bullard fiasco
this 100%
being local there is plenty of 'news' around regarding Austin.
the knee was a schoold days injury that he'd completely forgotten about as it was a one off and has never resurfaced since (or until 03.08.13!)
doesn't want to go to Forest and has told Burnley as much; will hold them to the final year and walk if it goes that way (which it won't). We are ideally placed for him & his Mrs as the training ground is about 45 minutes from where all his family are based.
not denying that he could get himself in all sorts of trouble but he's the type that could do that at any club, not just in London. Always delivers on the pitch though.

he was overweight at the end of last season he had problems with Hughes as well at the start of last season and was dropped due to his attitude in training, he came back and improved and was then back in the side

This transfer has "mike Sheron" written all over it Would like us to go for Rhodes instead more mobile and a better finnisher,
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

And a better player, but probably more than twice as expensive. Hull were going to get Austin for £4.5m and that may well have come down now with his contract coming to an end and his medical failed. Rhodes moved for £8m 12 months ago and has had another fantastic season since then.

As it would appear, with Hooper falling for us at the last hurdle, Charlie Austin is next on the shopping list... How many did Austin score in The Championship last season? Six more than Hooper ever did & he's two years younger...
Silver lining anyone?

I like this post (assuming it is factually correct of course!)
I haven't checked the stats but it sounds like Austin hasn't been out of the game with injuries much last season. So maybe he is the "right sort" & just plays through whatever injury he may be carrying. Better than the colossal fanny that is Jay Bothroyd if it's the case.
