Think Jessica (see the first name female bias there?) will be unfortunate to miss out, but the other three have all achieved something no-else has in British sporting history. Having said that, I've always maintained the SPOTY award isn't just about achievement, but profile. If anyone but Wiggins wins therefore, I'd be gobsmacked.
Murray or Wiggins for me, although I can see Ennis sneaking in there cos I reckon she is more popular than some of the others. Would like to see Hoy get in the top 3 but I doubt he will.
It should be a straight fight between Wiggo and Murray. Worthy as the achievements of the others are, they are run-of-the-mill in comparison. Wiggins' and Murray's achievements have not been equalled in the lifetimes of any on here and comparatively few in the country. Jesus, Giggs got it for services to philandering! So, it's Murray, just, for beating the equivalent of Merckx, Indurain and Armstrong in the same Tour. Yours very crossly!!!!!!!
I don't understand why people make such a big deal out of it. Personality has nothing to do with who wins - it's simply a popularity contest at this point. I'd rather watch the Rochdale tramp pull coins out of his anus than switch over to the beeb tonight.
