The truth 23:42 - Sep 15 with 20978 views | Ricardo | Not many know the truth about what happened - but many want to speak about it I was not happy about Grant playing up to get an advantage. I was even less happy when he continued to wink towards me - apparently thinking this is what I had paid to see. I explained I did not like it and he continued to wink and appeared to encourage some of the other Rochdale fans to take it on themselves to have a go at me. I was thrown to the floor and taken by yellowcoats away. I was not happy about this (I had not done anything) and forced away. Following assessment for head injury, and a cup of tea, I was taken back into the arena (I asked to be escorted back as I had been attacked earlier). If people want to claim otherwise so be it. The truth on 21:29 - Sep 17 by Ricardo | In fairness TR I have apologised on here and would be willing to do so in person. As far as I can tell that apology has not been accepted. I do not feel it appropriate to attend at the moment with such negative vibes - and I would not want to be in any way responsible for further upset |
you are making yourself to be a bit of a victim here and that doesnt sit well ,i am sure you will not be even spoken to at the game tomorrow and everything will go down ok . Be the person you were on saturday and it will be different ,my wife has decided she will no longer go to games and for that i personally hold a grudge against you but at least you will not be able to verbally abuse her. My daughter on the other hand is looking forward to the next verbal discussion ,you will not hear from me and hope you SUPPORT the team tomorrow [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

I am not trying to suggest I am a victim and apologise further if that is what people read into these messages. I accept full responsibility for my actions, and do not wish to cause any further angst for anyone, myself included. Someone posted that actions count rather than words, but I cannot use more than words just now. The only action I can take is to avoid further confrontation - and that is the action I will take. I am nervous about how some might react which is good reason to take avoiding action until this can be resolved, hopefully amicably. Sincerely

I may have missed it but have you explained anywhere your reason for faking a seizure ? Suggested actions:- Avoid Alcohol Support and encourage the team Dont be verbally abusive to fellow fans There would be no confrontations then !

From what I have read Ricardo - It would seem that Doris appears to have been wronged somewhat by yourself - but is willing to draw a line under it to a point. I cannot see anyone being physically aggressive towards you - unless you behave in what appears to be a stupid manner again - and in fairness it sounds like you may have smelt the coffee somewhat and hopefully have learnt that certain behaviors are unacceptable. I would guess 95%+ of people on here are not bothered what has happened, thinks is stupid/childish or were not there to be bothered. I would stick to ensuring you buy Doris and SFE a Pie, appologise and leave it at that. We have had too many shit teams, managers and seasons for the majority of us to have long memories, so maybe a couple of messages to those who appear to have been most effected would be in order, then continue to follow the team we all support, would be in order - and maybe learn to bite your tongue in the future. Cant speak for anyone as you have not effected me but........

I do wish to draw closure to this entirely avoidable situation but suspect it will be a long time in coming. Actions will speak louder — but will also take time to be taken seriously. I repeat my apology, and will do so in person to anyone and everyone who makes themselves known to me. I really do not know who most of the people are on this board from their usernames. In no way is this any excuse for my unacceptable behaviour. In the end I did decide to have a couple of drinks on Saturday, against medical advice as “I knew better”. For those of you who do know me you will have known that I have not been drinking for around 4 months for a variety of reasons. Once of these reasons relates to high blood pressure/stress for which I am taking medication which also says that alcohol should be avoided. But I chose to drink (not as copiously as many are claiming) and hence the consequences of that, including a massive overreaction, remain my fault. I only provide this explanation as it has been requested.

The truth on 09:17 - Sep 18 with 1531 views | PotterDale | As a witness to this incident (standing directly behind) and contributor to this thread in the dim and distant days of page 1 I think this has now run its course. I was not affected by the incident in any detrimental way by either party involved, but can understand how younger fans and their families could be. In my opinion, and thats all it is, this incident was avoidable but sadly inevitable owing to "the demon drink", a fact Ricardo has acknowledged and apologised for. It is now time to put this behind us (as I have no doubt everybody has) and put this down to the away day experience. I myself was involved in an altercation some years ago at an away match (also in London!) with a regular poster on here, which was very much along the same lines as this, although this just ended with a bit of handbags. I have accepted that on that occasion this could have been avoided on my part and have never been involved in any further incidents and continued going to away games, which hopefully is exactly what Ricardo will do, a little bit older and a little bit wiser. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

The truth on 21:24 - Sep 18 with 1162 views | wroughtironron | I seem to remember a Dale fan running onto the pitch at Kidderminster many seasons ago, and dropping his trousers. Some might consider that offensive, whilst others not........ the moon came out at half past three that day.
