I need CONNOISSEURS on this thread not AMATEURS.

A 5 tiered cheese cake for let's say a certain event (@ Real Loftus, behave please on this thread); what should said cheeses be?

Stilt's is obviously in the squad but I'm in severe danger of doing a Mark Hughes and ordering every cheese on the planet. Help required before my six pack is more akin to Homer Simpson's.

A massive bag of grated mild cheddar from M&S's lazy bas tard range. Served in the bag. To ensure there are no issues with dirty people who don't wash their hands after visiting the poo-centre, rather than have people handling the cheese, encourage people to just stick their faces in and have a good chomp like they were apple-bobbing before releasing the cheese onto a pre-buttered Carr's water biscuit (or Jacob's cream cracker if your guests are from working class stock). I have hosted many triumphant dinner parties and can say with great authority that this is the correct way to serve cheese at top end functions.

os stick a few cheese and onion crisps under the cheese before toasting then add sauce after

you can see the toxic cloud for miles ive been told after eating that little lot

try it mate you wont ever eat normal cheese on toast again , the after effects are pretty rank though but worth every guff produced

defo don't put the camembert or brie at the base; it will be a cheese based leaning tower of Pisa before you know it.

not a great start to married life having a knackered cheese tower.

although there needs to be said cheese in there somewhere to show your soft side (represents love for each other or some old bollox like that)

Cheddar is for philistines , anything French should do the trick.The smellier the better. I'd start with Fourme d'Ambert as its the king of fromage.

Those French blue's look lovely but the smell makes me feel ill.

I blame the Norwegian girl who in 1997 gave me some of her brown goat's cheese 'delicacy'.... 3 days later I could still taste the bloody thing and nothing even neat JD or Vodka could shift it. I think some must have somehow lodged in a sinus.

Hi Charlie 1
The safest option is as follows. From bottom to top:
1) Base - Mature cheddar (you obviously need a firm cheese on the bottom)
2) Creamy Stilton (not one that's been in the fridge!)
3) Large Brie (Somerset IS as good as a lot of the French stuff)
4) Medium sized Camembert or equivalent (nice and soft one)
5) Top - Small goat's cheese
