The Boys are Back... 05:40 - Jul 25 with 10484 viewsHulaHoop

Just unexpectedly bumped into the entire squad coming through the T3 customs hall about 15mins ago... I think they must have come in on Singapore Airlines or Cathy Pacific. I had a brief chat with Sparky & Hill, all accounted for & all very tired after a long, but enjoyable trip...

Nice start to the day!! U R's...

Where did you work SmartRs?
I work in T5 BA

I managed a team of IT Project Managers based at Waterside. One of my last roles before I retired was to Manage certain elements of the IT rollout for what was then the new Terminal 5. I also managed a number of projects worldwide during the course of my last few years at BA.

When I retired, I had worked almost 40 years for the company. Out of that time, I spend it almost exclusively working in computing, approx 35 years.

I still have a lot of friends working there and I keep in touch with what is going on. I also still fly on BA a lot as I still have concessional flights.

According to the Urban Dictionary:

Shortened version of ' IS IT NOT '. A question, probably, when originally shortened, but now used by English people in about every f***ing sentence they say. Half the time it's used as a response, where most people might say 'yes/yeah' or 'really/wow' or 'damn/s**t' ... init/innit is used.
1
ME - 'I went to the store'
U - 'innit'
Me - ' Bought some milk and bread and smokes and went home, watched BB on TV'
U - 'innit'

2
" So me was out with me boys, innit, and we was going to get some beers, innit, when this guy, yeah, like comes up to us, yeah, innit, and he was like Gimme some change, we was like, innit"

So there it is init?

So it's not our plane then, just advertising. Bah

Well yes.

An Airbus A320 will set you back $90m. 'Our Tone' is splashing the cash but even he wouldnt go that far..

Aircraft dispatcher (or turnaround manager) as they now call it. Work all over, T3, T5 a/b/c.
Where does she work?

Did people seriously think the team would be flying around England (and Swansea) all season in that plane?

They're not the fcuking A Team!

That's right - it's coming back to me now...BAA were responsible and there wasn't much BA could do about it because they don't run the airport per se.

The plane isn't actually for us. It's just a plane with some advertising on it. We've used it on the tour to promote us and the airline, but it's not just going to hang around at RAF Norfolt to take us up to Newcastle and the like. It's going to just be a normal Air Asia plane flying normal Air Asia routes, but with some advertising on the side.

Nokia have their branding on the side of Jet Airways (India) planes

I very much doubt it's only Nokia employees flying around on them.

Particularly not as Nokia are currently imposing a travel ban on all staff.

We've come a long way from discussing if we have paid the rent for the training ground or not haven't we?

Can't believe we're now discussing when, where and what plane the team are flying around in?

T5 whilst amazing, gave my vertigo a nice prang when I last flew to SA.

Madrid is the only one that comes close. I have a friend coming from Venezuela via Madrid in August, I hope she does not get lost in the Airport like me and another friend did.

I was interconnecting to a Jo'berg one, it had only been opened 3 weeks and no one spoke English.
Finding the 'neutral Zone' (I was with a SA citizen) was....Interesting it took nearly 3 hours and at one point blokes with firearms turned up

When I finally got my beer it was like Nectar.

Fraid not. Do you know which section he works?
IMO I think T5 is a great terminal to fly from. Far better than Gatwick. Working there is a pain at times tho, but you could probally say that about any job!
