How many points needed to stay up on 11:03 - Mar 1 with 2401 views | sweetcorn | Like has already been discussed quite a few times, 52 will probably be enough, we need to start winning now, because the more games that go on, the more pressure it puts on the players to get results, I don't wanna go down for footballing reasons, but also for JC, it'd be a massive kick in the teeth for him if we ended up back in the same league that he'd come from, yes he has a bit more slack when it comes to budgets, but we're not much better off.

How many points needed to stay up on 11:24 - Mar 1 with 2374 views | D_Alien | I'm sticking to my previous prediction(s) that 50pts will be enough this year, even with an inferior goal difference That means we'd need 21 from 13 games - 1.6 per game But let's put it another way. I reckon we need 6 wins - 5 almost certainly won't be enough

Its a tough ask - got to go for it sat and get a win if at all possible. Then i think we can get 6 wins from perm 6 from Carlisle Oldham Tranmere Walsall Yeovil Exeter CHESTERFIELD* MK Dongs at Home Orient I have put a line through although could pick up bonus wins / draws v Hudds Brentford Sheff United - Home though!! Tough ask!! But still do able!!

I even think that I'm asking an awful lot to pick up four wins.

How many points needed to stay up on 14:50 - Mar 1 with 2248 views | StudiousDale | I'd have to agree with most of what you have there Chaff. Last 3 games though - Exeter, Dongs, Orient. Hopefully we can beat Exeter, then beat Dongs as they find themselves with nothing to play for and don't want injuries before the play-off semi-final, and then we beat Orient last game as we know we have to do it to stay up. That would take us to 49 I think? [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

How many points needed to stay up on 15:46 - Mar 1 with 2222 views | dingdangblue | If its as high as 53 then we are goosed. Thats nearly double our current points! If coleman keeps up his current points per game ratio we'll finish on only 46pts. Think we need 50. Home wins v oldham, tranmere, walsall, exeter. Away wins v yeovil and chesterfield. Draws v sheff wed, carlisle and orient. Defeats against huddersfield, sheff utd, brentford and mkdons. Its a tough ask! [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

What's happened to Chesterfield away? Your argument is flawed, Chaff.

Splitting it into 3 sections we do need at least 2 wins per section S.Weds 10 Carlisle 8 Hudders 13 Oldham 3 Tranm 2 Brents 9 Walsll 1 Yeovil 6 SUtd 12 Exeter 4 Cfld 5 MKD 11 Orient 7
How many points needed to stay up on 06:44 - Mar 2 with 1983 views | frenzied | the key games are the ones against the other bottom teams...5 to play i cant see us getting anything at Hudds, Sheff united ,MK, i hope we can improve our goal diff as this may well cost us..at least weve stopped shipping 2 and 3 goals for fun..need more punch up front certainly at home where we may as well lose as draw...just go for it JC!!!!!!!
How many points needed to stay up on 09:17 - Mar 2 with 1950 views | DorsetDale | Anything can happen yet. We could beat Sheff Wed and go on a decent run... but I, like Chaff, don't think we will. Hope I'm wrong but I reckon to have had any chance this weekend there needed to be a reversal of fortunes in the score on tuesday night to carry the team forward with some belief. We've seen Chesterfield go on a mini winning streak and yet they are still adrift having come to an abrupt halt. Admittedly, Dale aren't as far behind as Chesterfield were but it's going to take some real heroics and looking-in-the-mirror "have I got the bottle?" situations from the players to get where they need to be come May.

When Oldham escaped relegation from the Premier League in 1992/93, they had 40 points with 3 games to go and Crystal Palace had 47. Palace got only 1 more point and Oldham got 9, ending on 49 and 48 respectively having closed a 7 point gap in a week. In that season, Sheffield Wednesday finished 7th. Villa and Liverpool (both of whom Oldham beat in those final three games) finished 2nd and 6th. Just shows that anything can happen (we will beat top sides and lose to the worst) and never to give up hope... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1992%E2%80%9393_in_English_football
How many points needed to stay up on 12:35 - Mar 3 with 1683 views | pnc4eva1 | 51 points has only seen one team relegated in the last twenty years. We need to get to 51 as our goal difference is worse than all around us. It is unlikely that we will be able to make up the gap in goals between us and current 20th
