Derby were proper gash. We played poorly in the first half, yet Derby was so bad we could get a 2-0 lead without even really trying. They were as bad as that Oxford half, probably worse.
Paal was poor and got beat too many times. Luckily, the rest of the defence was on their game. We did well by putting this team to the sword and scoring our chances. If you want to progress that's what a team needs to do and we did it. More Marti magic.
But the amount of space they left for all of our midfielders was crazy. They looked and played like a L1 side. If they get relegated, I am not sure even Eustace can polish that turd. They only have one decent player.
I like Varane but Derby made him look like Xavi, Chair the West London Messi, Koki a Step-Over Ronaldo and well Field ... err like Field.
Marti knew it before the game, saving Smyth and Morgan for our next run of tough games.
Derby are so bad that Madsen has found his next club.

Nobody is getting carried away . Poor first twenty but put a poor Derby side to the sword and could have been more. Thought Paal had a good game last night . His dead ball delivery much better . He’s an odd one . He was poor against Coventry but still pulled out a brilliant ball which Frey should have put away . I’m a happy bunny . Most of us are and looking forward to some tough fixtures in March which I still think we’ll do well in . Sheffield utd at home and WBA away nothing to be scared of and I think we’ll do Leeds as well. They hate playing us at our place.
Why do so many posters frequently 'slag' Paal??
Fortunately the Manager plays him whenever fit and available, moves him into CM during matches when the need arises which gives us a lot of options, gets him on corners & free kicks but posters post that he is poor - absolute nonsense. And BTW he was far from poor at Coventry.
We have one of the better left backs in this league and it is a real shame posters do not see that!!!!

Bollox.
I’m getting carried away and carried even further away. That’s why I go to football and why I support Rangers. Coming after a 94th minute defeat on Tuesday makes me get carried so far away I’ll be on bloody Mars.
F uck Derby. They were shit all night, deserved the humping they got. Like 2014.
Don’t stop getting carried away while you f ucking well can.
Bollox to your bollox - you call that getting carried away? This is propa getting carried away.

Sorry if I’m “ Slagging” off Paal . It was just my opinion on his performance in the Coventry game . He has been pretty decent on the whole all season and you’re right we don’t have a viable alternative. When he gets his deliveries right he really gets them right. One of the best footballers in our team? Don’t thinks so but that’s just my opinion.

Paal wasn't poor, despite the comms pronouncing his name 'pall'. There's a real vendetta against him by some on this board, which is unpleasant, and one wonders about the reasons behind it.
Totally agree. There appears to be a disgusting undercurrent to this which isn't based on overall performances and measurable contributions. Kudos to those for highlighting the seemingly constant, baseless pillorying of Paal by some on here, as it is largely without foundation.
Happy to be corrected, but from what I can see, only the left-backs at Leeds (Firpo) Sunderland (Cirkin) and Sheffield United (Burrows) have better assists and contributions than Paal. He's ahead of Pires at Burnley in that regard. His numbers are identical to Smyth this season, which dismisses the lazy and baseless allegation that he's "not committed/phoning it in/will put his feet up by March". His numbers from last season are identical to Dunne's of this. The much-mentioned Owen Beck, deemed as being better than Paal: 1 goal.
All achieved after the club hung him out to dry before the start of this season, with no statement thereafter in support of the player, which contrasts starkly to the announcement made with Dunne when it was clear that he was going to stay for the rest of this season. Both players are in identical contractual situations.
Well Done KP and the entire team for turning this season around and some. It would appear that he's not bad at all.

I like Paal: think he’s more than decent enough at this level and hope we keep him.
However again we have a poster suggesting there is a “disgusting undercurrent” to the criticism he gets, just like recently when someone else suggested similar about Chris Willock’s criticism.
Really feel there is no need for these baseless accusations against posters to be put on here at all: totally unnecessary.
The criticism for the players mentioned has been levels below that thrown at the likes of Madsen all season and Celar before he got scored a couple of goals and got injured: how’s that fit into the theory?

Paal is 'proper' decent Watford, arguably the best footballer in the team, one of my favourite players - he is a big asset to the team and why MC picks him whenever he is available which is most weeks. His delivery for Edwards goal was excellent, and at Coventry his run down the line cross to the CF should have won us the game. Yes he makes mistakes, yes he could defend better but he is decent - we should be making every effort to get his contract extended. Watch him move into centre midfield during the match, he gives players options all the time. He was very good last night.
I would ignore the opening post - we were too good for them and they could not handle our intensity. They looked OK in the first 20 minutes but we were within ourselves. Enjoy your Saturday, like I will.

I think the reason MC picks him when fit is because of the fact we don't actually have another left back! I thought he did OK last night, much improved set pieces.
We spent all summer trying to offload him and he'll be gone at the end of the season.

I don’t doubt the guy has ability. Just think he’s physically weak and too many of our goals come down his side and often not getting tight enough to his opponent. Don’t hate the bloke, just an opinion.
It was a good ball for Edwards and a good ball across on Tuesday. A few more like those and more than a few less like the majority of his corners and we’re rolling.

I’ve said some of Smyth’s , Dunnes, Madsen and many others performances have been poor on here . If people think there is an undercurrent to my and others mild criticism of Paals performances on here. Well I find that pretty sad . It’s a forum with people’s opinions on players performances(parts of it.) . We might as well all log off for good if we can’t do that .

Everyone is entitled to both their opinions and their reactions obviously, but I've had a shit year so far and precious little to celebrate with QPR for an age, so I'm going to uncritically soak up the joy of a 4-0 victory like they are meant to be.

Paal is better than mid table Championship.....watch where is goes if we do not renew his contract.
Regarding his corners, they can be frustrating but perhaps the players he is trying to find do not do their job.....and BTW the near post corner is very difficult to exercise - he is playing the ball into a very tight area which is well defended but get to it and rewards can be very good.
I appreciate he is most likely being told to try and deliver the ball to the near post by Marti and the coaching team but he has generally proved incapable of this. His good set pieces have generally come from non corners.
Like I said, I'd be fine with him extending his contract. He frustrates quite regularly and teams do seem to target us down his side more than Dunne's so they must think he's the weaker of the two full backs. Yesterday he did well and I liked how he kept popping up in midfield and giving an option. He's clearly an intelligent player and his fitness record is very good.

There have been at least 10 games this year where we've said the opposition were incredibly poor/worst we've played all season/league 1 side.
This is a poor league full of poor teams. Competence gets you in the top half. Being half decent gets you in the playoffs. You may say that we ain't all that and could be right, but that's enough in this league. We were awful first 15 games, we've bounced between competence and being pretty darn good the last 15 and the table reflects that.
Yes we should always strive for better but I think a reset is needed in terms of the expectations of what is required in the championship

Don’t always see eye to eye Ned but I couldn’t agree more .
This is total baseless b*locks and only necessary if you want some attention, as we know who started this nonsense initially earlier in the thread . I’ve criticised Paal a fair bit since he’s been here . He’s had good games and bad games but overall I think he struggles physically and teams target him. Not a terrible player but someone who will be gone in the summer. Whether you agree or not is one thing and of course lots of people won’t but to suggest that there is an ‘undercurrent’ in mine or anyone else’s opinion on here is a pathetic and disgraceful accusation . As you quite rightly say Ned, what about the criticism of Field, Dunne, Smyth, Cook, Chair, Frey, Madsen, Saito, Celar, Santos, for example that I’ve read on here relatively recently ? That’s ok but criticism of Paal is from a place of some sort of discrimination.
F*cking idiots. Simply no need for it as it doesn’t exist on this forum from what I can see .

You suggest that people criticise a black player because of the colour of his skin and then take offence to the term ‘f*cking idiot’.
It’s juvenile, pathetic , hypocritical and dangerous . You weren’t the only one but you are across practically every thread constantly spreading your bile and childish discourse yet you want me edited.
You’re a f*cking idiot.

There always has to be a player that fans pile onto.
This season, it's been Madsen and Celar, yes both have disappointed but piling on and being consistently abusive, doesn't help anyone. We have to trust the managers' hopes and beliefs on some players.
Regarding the move to Paal, as other two not featuring greatly, well we have had some great results but there is always the need in some to find something or someone to moan about. Paal can be decent. The club were trying to get rid of him at the start of the season and then left him as our only option at left back. He is a decent championship full back and yes he does have deficiencies, hence why he is here and in the championship, but overall is decent enough and rarely injured.
The need for a pantomime villain by some, even when we are performing well, is hard to understand.
I think with improvement in form comes greater expectation. What a luxury. Derby set up to stop our back 4 passing it out. This succeeded for 15 - 20 minutes but obviously they couldn't keep this up as they were knackered. We could have scored more but job done? Love the freedom MC gives players to run at opponents, yeah doesn't always come off but exciting to see. Would like to see us hang on to possession sometimes a bit more. Frey whose enthusiasm I love sometimes let's himself down with his final touch but what a great attitude he has? If its any consolation to the moaners I always read the opp forums after a game, despite just losing to us someone always calls Rangers 'bang average'

‘bang average’ - I see it all the time. On here when we lose and from opposition fans when we win. I just think it’s a coping mechanism
