If you don't take your chances you get punished.
We just don't have a goalscorer.
Tall Paul worked his socks off but just can't score.
I liked the endeavour today.
Bowen was the difference.

Agreed
I would like to see Archer along side Paul
Tall Paul showed more than enough today to suggest he could have given us something in many previous games that’s for sure
Interesting that we were well it first half but looked tired second
Clear we are not fit enough at all
Another leftover of Wuss

I like Tall Paul but its imperative he starts scoring because in this division if you miss chances you pay for it.
Juric will have seen today the problems we have but do have we the tools to fix them?
We lack that player that can do something special,Bowen did that today and was the only difference between the two sides.

That's always been the problem. It doesn't matter what the tactics are or how we play, if you keep missing chances you don't win. And no manager can solve that. The owners and board should spend 40 million on striker instead paying off various managers. What can the manager do if the players arnt good enough and.miss easy chances?

Tall Paul had a shot brilliantly saved by Fabiański in the first half.
On todays performance he deserves another chance,Armstrong is not the right partner for him.
I'm going to reserve judgment on him till hopefully hes had a run in the side ,if he doesn't start scoring then a decision has to be made.
January we should buy a goalscorer anyway.
The catalyst for our present failures up front was when we bought an injury prone strike in Stewart at great expense and failed to find a replacement

I would keep Tall Paul in the team. He runs, causes chaos, holds the ball up, gives his all and I enjoyed his performance for effort alone. But he isn't a Salah, an Ings, a Mane or what you would call a top PL striker. Neither is Armstrong and neither is Dibling. They just don't match the quality we are facing every week. Bowen was the difference today. Such fine margins, but it's on the board again foe not getting in the real quality we need.

But what £40m striker would come here unless we spend £30m each on a couple of midfield providers
I thought Wood is now coming to his own at the back now that he is having a few games under his belt
I didn't feel as down today with a loss as I have under RM as the performance was a vast improvement on anything over the last few months

Listening to Ivan's interview on Solent after the game I think you'll have your wish re Tall Paul!
He said he was a good player who has scored loads of goals albeit in lower leagues, but he def has faith in him
Jury's out for me still as while he is def a menace, nothing wrong with that, his control etc leaves a lot to be desired

I agree, Grumpy, I didn't get back from the game until much later so I didn't see your post before I posted mine, which is almost identical to yours.

We so, so badly needed a goalscoring centre forward this season and we still do.

Substitutes are a world away from the starting XI, both in terms of ability and style of play. By swapping our full backs, especially with Bree coming on for Sugawarra, the play returned to a pass round the back style.

Aribo, Sule and Bree all slowed down our play in this regard considerably.

Only change i’d make is Archer in for AA. Onuachu was excellent, as was KWP.

We created better chances than West Ham today. If we'd had Bowen and they'd had Onuachu, we'd have won 2-0.

Onuachu's play created many of our chances. Bowen scored a simple tap in, despite barely threatening us throughout. Even our attackers would've scored that chance.

Only our defensive lapses gave them that chance.
Confidence, composure and concentration….details.

Paul didn’t score but at least we were getting in the box and having chances.

How many ‘no shots on target’ games have we had recently?!

This was so much better.

Paul has scored everywhere else he’s played. He will for us too.

We were unlucky yesterday. Didn’t deserve to lose.
