Tomorrow sees DC take his U’s side to Highbury Stadium – the home of the Cod Army.
Now I must resist the temptation to opine that we will batter them and that they’ve had their chips or that they will be filleted by the Super U’s.
Charlie Adam’s side are 13th with 21 points from 14 games (2 games in hand on most clubs) whilst we are 20th with 17 points from 16 games.
Brendan Wiredu a former U’s favourite might be fit to face his old side.
Now once again the game is on Sky TV with a 12:30hrs kick off and so I am going to watch the game on the TV. I have no real excuse but that is the way it is tomorrow.
Of course, the last time I went to Highbury Stadium was 25 April 2015 where the attendance was 3,129 and on 83 minutes we were 2-1 down and heading for relegation. However, Gavin Massey drew us level on 84 minutes and in a frantic finale Chris Porter scored a penalty in front of the faithful (he was super cool when it really mattered). We won 3-2 and cue jubilant scenes from the faithful. We also survived that season, only to be relegated the following season.
Tomorrow at Fleetwood the weather will be 12 degrees Celsius, cloudy with a 22% chance of precipitation and a keen breeze.
Make sure you take some Fisherman’s Friends which are made by the Lofthouse Company in Fleetwood ( you pass the factory on the way to the ground).
Now after the euphoria of the first Away win of the season at a wet and windy Blundell Park (the weather was horrendous and fair play to the faithful who battled the elements to witness the great win), the forecast suggests that conditions will be marginally better at Highbury Stadium.
It was also no accident that DC was able to field almost his strongest side.
I would go with the following tomorrow:
Definitely the best back four at the club. Then if fit I would like to see Oscar Thorn and Owura Edwards as the wide players with McDonnell and Payne in midfield. TnT up front.
Macey
Egbo Goodliffe Donnelly Iandolo
Thorn McDonnell Payne Edwards
Tovide Taylor
Subs Smith Flanagan Anderson Read Gordon Woodyard Bishop
And this is the problem that DC has still no place for Kells within that lineup and squad.
Anyway, we will see how bold DC is with his selection.
Back-to-back Away wins. You better believe it. The U’s are on their way up.
Scoreline another win and in an open game a 3-2 U’s win with a scorcher from Egbo and TnT to bag the other two.
Safe journey to the travelling faithful.
Enjoy the game and Up the U’s

Great review as always Durham, thanks! Personally, I think I'd lean towards Anderson to start and Thorn on the bench, but otherwise I like the look of that lineup. On paper Fleetwood are only 4pts ahead of the U's, but as Danny mentioned in his pre-match interview, they're in a somewhat false position having played considerably fewer than everyone else. In reality, they are probably another firm play-off contender, so it'll be interesting to see whether we can kick on from Grimbsy against another promotion contender, with another awayday next Saturday at much-fancied Notts County (I'll be there).
Great lead up to the game Durham. By staying at home tomorrow you have saved being banned from attending as after last week's 0-1 win without you Noah and I suggested you should be banned while we we're drawing and winning away from home

That is outrageous Gerry
I have been to three Away draws this season
Barrow, Morecambe and Accrington.
Admittedly no Away wins yet
Leaves me in a quandary for Meadow Lane.
In truth Sky Sports televised games are leaving me lazy this season.
Enjoy the game tomorrow

Other than going for Anderson instead of Thorn, you were almost spot-on Durham - other than the complete absence of Lyle Taylor - must have picked up a knock. Seems to have been replaced with Read, which suggests a 4-5-1?

3rd game of the season for me, and I’ve not seen us lose yet!!!!!!
I believe I’ve just seen Neil Kelly getting some grub under the stand. Sadly I didn’t have a chance to tell him to up his game ‘cause Marky thinks he’s shite.

Shockingly poor crowd and if it wasn’t for the Col U youngsters they’d be no atmosphere. Poxy 12:30 kick offs. the EFL are killing the game and they don’t give a shit.

Excellent save from Macey following a dominant start from the U's. I'm not drawing any conclusions from this observation, but there's not much 'diversity' in the Fleetwood starting XI.

Colchester definitely on top on this game.
Anderson might be replaced by Gordon although I would like to see young Thorn.
Anyway Up the U's
PS hope Taylor is ok

In fairness you would need to be born here to want to live or work in this shithole. I’m sure the whole fleetwood crowd have got in on a single family ticket.
I’m pretty sure that most on the home end were nodding in agreement when the faithfully were singing ‘Fleetwood’s a shithole’

Apart from our little flurry approaching half time, by far the most entertaining part of the day so far has been watching all the seagulls circling the ground during all the injury breaks. Good job I’m in the standing end, because I would probably be asleep by now if I was sitting down.

Thorn and Bishop are the only real options on the bench.
January must see another striker to support Tovide if Taylor is not got.
We can still win this but more attacking intent needed

Glad I didn’t go. Perfect demonstration of why we needed to recruit another striker. One shot on target, and that being one that dribbled into the keeper’s gloves from Payne. I suppose a valuable point, but poor reward for the 100 hardy souls now facing a six hour trip home. Swindon Tuesday now a must win.

I'd have taken a point beforehand but I thought it was a good performance by The U's and could so easily have been a winning one. Let's hope Lyle Taylor is available for Tuesday.

Let's not get onto the young man's back as learn g on the job. lways thought it would be a draw so happy with the point and if we win Tuesday we will really be looking up rather than down

I totally agree, despite my immediate lament, we shouldn't get on young Oscar's back over this. I've seen better chances than that missed. We are though proving ourselves difficult to beat, which is definitely a move in the right direction. Bring on scummy Swindon on Tuesday.
