Agreed, having been his harshest critic of both his goalkeeping and his Chelsea podcasting, nice and accurate words about QPR as a club. Fair dos. Still useless though :-)

This. Actions speak louder than words, he can say what he likes, but he was paid handsomely by us last year and at the end of the day, too summarise, he was shìte.

Begovic's Opinion on 08:54 - Nov 15 with 1787 views | JamesB1979 | What on earth is he on about? 3 players that left are now sat on the bench in championship and league 1. Not sure we had much choice in 2 of them and don’t tell me everyone thinks Lyndon is the saviour now. The rest of them are either without a club or playing non league. The issue is that of our starting xi from this season and last, 3 of them are injury prone (JCS, Colback and Frey). And our only cover for JCS got injured too. Added to that we have no cover for our left back and Chair has been injured for most of the season. And our cover for our cover in defence in Fox is also injury prone. Other than the Madsen signing which costs us in so many ways, it’s having an injury prone core to our squad that’s the problem. We were lucky last season. We can criticise the new signings but of our starting xi last season, begovic, Dunne, JCS, Cook, Paal, Field, Colback, Willock, Anderson, Chair, Dykes/Frey……….2/3 have left and 4/5 are injured. That means we have only 4 players that could now start that were starters last season. Even if we signed tried and tested English players, I’d still say that’s a huge upheaval in personnel and very difficult to do anything than struggle this season.

Maybe but what about all the mistakes that cost us points and almost sent us down?

he wasnt brillaint and i wasnt a fan esp after the plymouth away game , but he kept what was it 13 clean sheets so far we have kept two . Nardi is a decent keeper , good feet decent shot stopper , , but hes the worst keeper in a while for making the area his at crosses , if he does come itsa a half arsed punch back into a danger area, heard he was the only player marti wanted and got as well . you need a bocal keeper hes as quiet as a mouse , watch us conceed the next goal and see cooks reaction to him , im amazed he hasnt killed him yet , if the defence dost trust its keeper then you are in trouble and i dont think they trust him one little bit.

If you're trying to tell us Burgervic was better than Nardi then.......mmm! It was our defending that got us the clean sheets last season. It's a bit like when we won through the playoffs. It was in spite of Redknapp not because of him. Yes Nardi seems a bit quiet. Coming for crosses isn't his strength and he mainly lets the defenders deal with them. There have been signs of improvement in this area recently but on the whole, I would rather he stayed at home than come, miss and leave the goal empty. There are some big bastards in this league and its very difficult for keepers to come and claim crosses. There are many keepers getting 'done' in this way and I don't think Begovic was much better at this aspect. If as you say Nardi is Marti's choice, it's because he is so much better with his feet. As for Steve Cook, for all his experience and very good defensive play, his passing has been very inconsistent and costing us possession and his instant on field reaction to blame everyone but himself, isn't good for morale and contrasts with his view in post match interviews where he adopts a more conciliatory tone. Begovic's Opinion on 10:29 - Nov 15 with 1471 views | QPR_Jim | Goal Prevented 2023-24 - Begovic -7.8 2024-25 Nardi - +0.4 (so far) As others have said we got clean sheets mainly due to the defence. It's not been as solid this year and Nardi only has 2 clean sheets as a result. We also saw in the last game of the season how Begovic's distribution wasn't great either as Walsh was much better and I think that's one of Nardi strengths too.

nardi is a good technical keeper agile great feet , not as attacking as the press release was when he signed, sorry have to disagree a keeper needs to be strong in the box to help the defence out , old school let them know you are there on the first cross. apart from the deflections off cook cant remember that many id lay at his feet to be honest. think it was the second boro goal which was down to nardi not coming off his line to claim the ball which was in front him electing to dive to the right instead of the playee right in front of him . shame we didnt go for the rotherham keeper now at stoke whos a better all round keeper

Fair enough. Johanson is four years younger and a Swedish international. However he cost a reported £1 million and I suspect he is on a much higher wage. Not sure he plays much with his feet. Think he might be at a higher level if he did.

Think it was around 800k/900k he had a release figure set in his last contract not sure how much we paid for nardi , he was even in a relegated side the one to go fro , unit , solid at crosses excellent shot stopped , yes I’d imagine Stoke are paying him more but he must have a]been above nardi in the FM charts for nourry and belk .

I like Nardi, but his weakness is, I think, quite a big one for this division. We basically have to defend on our goal line now, it invites more pressure.

I agree, plus I think he's been poor on a few goals as well, which we as fans haven't commented on as he's having a good season overall and is the least of our worries. Still, a gigantic improvement on Begovic.

Begovic made some big mistakes for sure, and Nardi has made some wonderful one on one saves in particular. But, with Begovic more vocal and claiming more balls coming into the box, whether we would have conceded more goals if we retained him is unquantifiable. Not digging Nardi out at all, I dint think Begovic was as bad as some have suggested. It's all just opinions.
