Him being a plastic paddy, another one who in time will regret his decision. There’s some proper nutters out there. But his brain doesn’t function above the level of an amoeba. Putting himself and his family at risk just like McLean.

England doesn’t really have an anthem of it’s own.

It is seen by most people as a b heroic body that saved the country from Nazi tyranny 80 years ago. It has to be accepted that other people's encounters with the British army has not been so positive. Argentinians Iraqi s for example . It is natural that not 100% of society will be supportive. Society I will never be an homogenous unit. UK generally allows a different point of view without prejudice.

But refuses to respect fallen heroes I would not want him anywhere near our club. Wrexham are showing a lack of respect by employing him in the first place. Some things are more important than football.

James mcclean .and the team on 06:41 - Nov 11 with 702 views | Scotia | I agree with most views on this forum. The problem I have is with the fans of the clubs he plays for. I would not tolerate it under any circumstances and would take some form of action (although pointless on my own). I don't understand why they tolerate it for a second. I wonder what the feeling would be if he was a Muslim and doing it out of sympathy for other recent conflicts? You'd think really this would be all over right wing social and regular media. It's not though.

A fascist junta and a vicious dictator. Great examples. If these are the sorts of people the British army are pissing off we must be doing something right.

Beat me to it it , not sure what he expects from our armed forces ,he should be happy that the description of them matches their abilities.

James mcclean .and the team on 17:00 - Nov 10 by pencoedjack | & what you say on such an important day to people who gave their lives to this country makes me want to spew. (Ex) soldiers on this forum must shake their heads in disbelief |
As it happens there was an ex soldier of 21 years service on the radio earlier talking about this. He said he doesn't expect people to wear poppies and if they decide they don't want to they have every right to do that. The whole point of our soldiers fighting for the freedoms we enjoy today is that we then have that freedom of choice. Telling others that they should do what we think is right and not what they think is right goes completely against that. So if he can support JM's choice, while not agreeing with it, why can't all of us.

The problem I have with it is that he choses to play in the English league system, thereby taking money from fans who are predominantly English (or Welsh in this case) who either will have lost family in past conflict, may be veterans themselves or at least relatives of veterans. Their cash is welcome in his pocket (even if that comes from the armed forces originally) but their history isn't. He could play in any other league in the world and not need to accept English cash or cause this controversy, but as a relativiely limited footballer, the most he'll earn is in England. That's why he's here, not because he's excercising freedom of choice. If he was a Muslim he'd have been hounded out of the football league by now.

You are now setting conditions by which he should operate. If you play in the English system you must wear a poppy and stand to salute.

I choose to wear a poppy. Always have done. I respect your decision to wear a poppy or not. Thats up to you. John is right. I respect the fallen like most everyone else, but i have a lot less respect for the rich and powerful men who sent these poor souls to their early deaths. Whilst the rich stayed safe in their beds. Lions led by donkeys.

No, I think he should respect those who pay has wages it is massive double standards on his part too. I'd expect the same of anyone, doing any job, anywhere. He'd have a dogs life if he were a Muslim.

Yes it is a shame , but this turd made it all about himself rather than the occasion so what else would you expect.
