Infrastructure here is the issue.

Chaos now all over the south.
Left there last week thankfully after my Dad was taken into hospital(ICU) out there for 3 weeks ; what a surreal experience that was but I have to say I cannot speak highly enough about the promptness and efficiency of the Spanish health care system ; after reporting his rapidly declining condition to the reception of our hotel he received an emergency visit from a doctor within 20 minutes and we were then ‘blue lighted’ into a private hospital by ambulance within the hour and admitted DIRECTLY into Intensive Care.
He was in ICU for 5 days then on a ward for 8 days and we eventually flew back home on a ‘repatriation flight’ last week where a UK based GP flew over to meet us and accompanied us back to the UK.
Anyway, he’s back home now in a local care home temporarily but that is after a traumatising experience at Morriston hospital where he had to go for admission ; quite frankly it was like experiencing a third world healthcare facility compared to Spain.
Just thought I’d share my personal experiences and be good to hear from Keith if the care my Dad received is ‘the norm’ or unique for private health/insurance cases ?

So sad and devastating pictures. I can't imagine where anyone would start to rebuild their lives .
Its a disaster, you don't hear many reports like this apart from so called undeveloped countries, 60 odd deaths from floods in Europe is rare unless I'm mistaken its a traffic loss of life caused by nature, can only see more of this happening unfortunately.
The rain we get here these days is more of less mostly torrential, we used to see this over the years of course, but never as frequent as we do these last yrs.
What we at doing in an attempt to ease climate change is barely the tip of the iceberg being the size we are, India, China, Russia and other's couldn't care less, so we got no chance.

Cheers Keith 👍
I hope he is on the mend 👍
The health system is decent here. Like everywhere it has its issues. It only takes one lazy employee to mess your day up. Rain hasn’t stopped here for three days full on now. It’s chaos.

Proper heavy stuff is it
My roof is being renewed next week, been having issues for a good few years, seen a patch on ceiling over week so went up loft and tried to patch the felt but its gone. Luckily my mate is able to change it on the hurry up for me, my own fault for putting it off for so long

Our Governments have been and still are and energy companies and the like, it’s a con to steal more money off the hard working taxpayers
We are not going to have any impact on this global issue. Our politicians are not honest with us. The argument that we must show leadership is nonsense to Russia, China, India etc
Absolutely horrendous pictures coming through on the news, I have been to Valencia many times a beautiful City so sad to see the damage and loss of life
Amazingly Benidorm an hour and a half away has has escaped it
You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game
Firstly, I understand that this is a terrible and sensitive time with the death and destruction we've just witnessed BUT ...if anyone else tells you anthropogenic climate change is a hoax, punch them in the mouth.
ALL THE DATA points to this for the recent extreme weather. We've just got one planet and one chance.
It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. - Carl Sagan
