His countries are the same as yours, the UK and Wales in whichever order you prefer.

A lot of Welsh men and women have fought for Britain to ensure you have the right to spout your hate speech but please don't be telling other people which country is or isn't theirs, it's their choice, not yours.

No - you cant have your own facts.

Even the BBC says you are wrong about your interchangeable nonsense.
England is a country. It always will be.
The UK is a state. It always will be.

You need to be better informed.

But most countries are sovereign states but not Wales, England, Scotland and NI. You’re getting hung up over the word ‘country’.

OK,

thecommonwealth.org/our-member-countries/united-kingdom#:~:text=The%20United%20Kingdom%20of%20Great,Northern%20Ireland%20and%20in%20Wales

From which,

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UK) is an island country that sits north-west of mainland Europe. It is made up of mainland Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) and the northern part of the island of Ireland (Northern Ireland). It has numerous smaller islands. The UK is low lying in the east. It has mountains in the north of England, in Scotland, in Northern Ireland and in Wales.

PS, if you read your own link, in large letters at the top it says

UNITED KINGDOM COUNTRY PROFILE.....you need to be better informed.

OH yes, there's also this,

Two world wars and the end of empire diminished its role in the 20th Century, and the 2016 referendum vote to leave the European Union has raised significant questions about the country's global role.

Did you even read your own link, can you read....is comprehension a problem for you?

I bet I know what your school report said...must try harder.

I've stopped laughing now.

Kingdoms are run by kings. Empires are run by emperors. We are run by Keir Starmer so we must be a country.

He always gets this wrong. Months ago he was listing Ireland rather than Northern Ireland as his fourth country within the two islands. Sometimes the four UK territorial areas are described as the "home countries". The problem there is that many question whether N. Ireland (the six counties) in particular can be described as a country. Writers on UK devolution mostly avoid the country term, and instead refer to territories or devolved administrations. The BBC is the last place to look for clarity with their misleading use of the idea of the "four nations", when they are clearly not nation states. None of these terms feature in the devolution legislation. The only sovereign nation covering the land area where we live is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. None of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, or even England, can have their own Foreign Secretary because foreign affairs is a matter reserved to the competence of the UK Parliament.

Starmer extreme left, that’s a mental comment and completely undermines the author’s credibility.

That said, I don’t hold Lammy in high esteem, he uttered these words in a meeting some 6 years ago following the Windrush scandal and I suspect he was “playing” to the audience, but it was in my opinion a naive thing to do. In 1833 following the abolition of slavery Britain compensated the slave owners, but not the slaves themselves, they never received any compensation.
If we were going to compensate the slavers for their suffering it should have been done 200 years ago and not now, how can we be responsible for the acts of the wealthy landowners and companies 200 years ago - its nonsense.

Time to draw a line under this subject and move on.

You think he's' not extreme left ?, really .The trouble is its often the message which is ignored because the author /speaker/ whoever it maybe is the target.
Regarding moving on , I agree but until jumped up civil servants stop embarrassing themselves and undermine the country they're supposed to represent then we can't move on.

The problem with describing Starmer as "extreme Left" is that it plays into the same kind of nonsense that saw the most centrist, or perhaps left of Centre Tory govt in decades described as "far right".

There's no nuance in politics anymore.

Starmer isn't extreme Left. Corbyn was. KS isn't. Starmer is just an opportunist. He'll say enough to keep the centre/centre left happy whilst ignoring the far left loonies because nobody remotely cares what they think.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Dianne Abbott is not on the Front Bench for Labour strangely , views too extreme maybe .
Corbyn tried his best to get her in as a Top Table Politician , a lost cause in the end for the Labour Party .

Echos of David Lammy having his own agenda in Government maybe .

Sure our new hard line and upright PM will stand up for true politics without favour .

About as an accurate description as we saw when some posters on here were describing some protesters as being right wing during this past summers protests. Strange that .

We live in a land where the national flag is seen as a representation of right wing thought
Ergo, proud to be British and wanting to look after the land sees one as racist right wing .
This is where we are
We see our countries enemies eulogised in public demonstrations with Police looking on ,literally .

The odd thing is he’s been one of the big players in politics for a good decade or so now and yet we don’t really know anything about him or what he actually believes in.

One thing is for certain though, he’s probably the most authoritarian PM we’ve ever had. Seems a right nasty petty little man.
