Welsh Funeral 23:04 - Aug 16 with 1147 viewslifelong

Went to a funeral of a good friend and former colleague today, we’d known each other for well over 50 years. He was a proud Welshman and Welsh speaker and the funeral service was conducted in Welsh and English. There’s nothing like a rendering of Calon Lan sung by a Welsh choir to a packed crematorium.
One of the most moving funerals I have ever attended.
An excellent sportsman and massive Swans fan.
Rest in peace Stuart.

There's no doub that Welsh hymns and specially (in my opinion) Calon Lan are very moving.

Sorry for your loss.

The Welsh love a good funeral and do it very well. Many funerals I have been to in England seem casual in contrast. At one in Nottinghamshire, I think I was the only one there with a suit and black tie
