Rest of the Championship thread 11:07 - Aug 10 with 69168 views | Hunterhoop | Toyed with this idea last season. Shall we have a thread to discuss, comment on, cover the rest of the league? A place to discuss other teams’ results, performances, financial implosions, etc? For example, last night, anyone catch either of the first two games? I didn’t. But somewhat surprised/worried Blackburn scored 4 given how they are meant to struggle. Was it Derby being utter sh*te? Sounds like Preston are continuing in the same vein of being incredibly dull. Clive, what do you think? Worth making a sticky? Might reduce the number of threads to manage.

Don't think I've ever seen a league side give the opposition so much time and space, and the number of times City got in behind them was unreal. Not sure if they have a lot of injuries, but they were absolute pony. Should have been 6/7-0.

That's good to know. What with them getting pumped and both Cardiff and Pompey conceding late levellers I'm happy with the results this weekend.

Unbelievable really, I mean given Rooney's huge managerial experience and how he's worked his way up the leagues, really thought they'd do better.

I’ve been ignoring them down the bottom. I think they’ll get out easily. They ballsed up sacking Rosenior and then appointing a bloke who seemed destined to fail. The temp guy is useless too. Now they can move on, I’m sure that pretty much any new appointment will help them rise up the league.
Rest of the Championship thread on 17:23 - Dec 5 with 3114 views | aston_hoop | Cardiff have made their caretaker boss the permanent manager. I think that is good news for anyone down the bottom, they were hopeless against us and I thought we looked well below par ourselves that day!

Considering how far adrift they were before he took on the caretaker role, he's earned it. In his 12 games in charge, they've picked up 16 points. During the same number of games, in spite of the proclaimed "green shoots", we've only managed 7. [Post edited 6 Dec 8:22]

All of them seem to be on a mission to get sent off and Marcondes is once again spending all his time chasing the referee around.

He should have been sent off. They’ve removed 3 players on cards now including him. Gunn flapped at a corner and Pompey scored but referee gave him a nice free kick treat.

Yes Stoke are so weird. I thought they would pull away from us this season but they are like a friendly malignant twin and whatever season it is they just try and stay as close to us as they can. Last season we virtually had identical stats to Stoke. As was the season before that and so on. They have a lot more money than us but never seem to get the appointments or the balance right. That is also two games in a row they have managed to chuck away in the final minutes. Mind you, you look at some of the 'Prem' players still in the Luton team and you wonder why they are making such heavy weather of it?

I’d argue Stoke have more chance of being dragged into it as the season goes on than Luton. Surprised Edwards has clung on but they’ve got good players and they’ll win home games at least. Stoke will just do what Stoke always do.

'Chance' suggests it's something to aim for! So many teams just unable to find consistency... Bristol, Watford, Norwich... Look world beaters one week then the next they couldn't find their own arse with both hands and directions. This is the stuff that gives me hope, all we need - all any team in this league needs - is a run of consistently good performances that will give you a run of results. 2-3 wins in the next 5 games and we're straight back in the comfort of 16th... That's why you stick with managers like Marti, they'll figure it out in time, and we've still got plenty of it.

2-3 wins? 5-0 tomorrow and Preston lose, 16th is ours.
