What on earth has happened to this league?*

*Corruption and a collapsed economy is the answer

Arguably been one of the most entertaining leagues in recent years, although last season was a bit of a procession. Napoli winning the league in 2023 and Bologna getting into the Champions League last season are about a zillion times more exciting than the Death Star hoovering up another doped-up title.

It's not bang up to date but this brilliant book by an Englishman who lives in Italy gives great insight into what it's like to follow Italian football:

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Read it but that book's nearly 25 years old now! "Not bang up to date" is putting it mildly!

It makes me feel old too

Genoa follower here. Forza Grifone!
