A Victory For Common Sense 18:31 - Apr 16 with 1850 views | JACKMANANDBOY | Can you imagine trying to organise a school day around multiple faith practices. If people want to send their children to a faith school that's fine but don't impose your practice in a way that affects others. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-68731366

A successful, ethnic woman who's school consistently delivers the kind of performance that ought to be impossible given the local demographics if you listen to the kind of excuses regularly made for the failure in other places.

I do have some issues with Michaela’s systems as they’re not completely replicable. Personally I’m glad her school exists at and that parents have the choice to send their children. Would I send my child there? Absolutely not.
A Victory For Common Sense on 08:57 - Apr 17 with 1651 views | AnotherJohn | There are several disturbing issues in this case. It was brought with legal aid, which reports say could be around £150,000, and the complainants seem to wish to take the case further if they can. Then there are suggestions that the prayer group did not merely seek to assert their own right to pray in the playground, but pressured other pupils to join in, thus seeking to undermine the secular ethos of the school. Beyond this. there was evidence that the girl bringing the case threatened class mates. Rather disturbingly the judge seems to have taken the girl's side in saying that the school acted improperly in excluding her for two short periods following alleged disruptive behavior. The judgement is here. https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Judgement-R-v-Michaela-Commu [Post edited 17 Apr 9:00]

It's now being reported that the legal cost is estimated to be closer to £500, 000, nice little earner for some lawyers, and I wouldn't mind betting that they are predominately of the Muslim faith.

Actually they seem to be home-grown "progressives". The barristers were Sarah Hannett and Katy Sheridan from Matrix Chambers, and they were instructed by solicitor Dan Rosenberg from Simpson Millar LLP. They are public law lawyers with specialisms that include education law. You can google the names to see their backgrounds. Matrix Chambers has long involvement in this kind of action. The native SJWs often seem to do as much damage as any incomers. [Post edited 17 Apr 17:15]

She was a founder member. Made an absolute killing with all the human rights legislation that her husband's government passed.

I’m a tad miffed by all this. If you choose to go to a particular school, in this case a secular school then accepting the rules as a condition of entry is part of the deal, if you don’t like it then clear off and go somewhere else. In general I’ve go not issue with the HRA because there is some very good stuff in there, but it’s been twisted and skewed by all sorts of people to suit their agenda. Cases like this should require a significant contribution from the parties initiating the litigation. Does this case mean the school will be out of pocket as a result of having to defend the case as I can’t see the cool getting legal aid!

This is the problem if a few who practice Islam. They don’t believe the rules apply to them and want to impose their faith on those around them. I stress a few as I know a few Muslims who see choice if faith as an integral part of the freedom we have in this country.

Maybe it's a relative few but in some places it's qute a large group, such as in Luton where there seems to be a large group of islamic extremists who believe our laws don't apply to them and our police should leave them alone whatever they do. They follow Islamic law and Uk law doesn't matter.

I have no figures to back this up but even in places like Luton, given the large population of Muslims, it’s probably a small-ish minority. Figures may prove me wrong.
