My dad had an Anglia but then later on an Allegro and a Marina, boht were trash cars tho I quite liked the marina Coupe, excpet for the colour, it was Orange. My first car was a Cavalier hatchback, 1800, no power steering, no ABS but a great drive all the same. H586 TGT. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Trying my best to work out that puzzler , alas I failed . A very good friend of mine had a White Viva back in the day , can still see it now . After my beloved Herald called it a day , options were an Avenger or Marina motor . Turned to Fords as the go to car thereafter , Mk 1 Escort , Mk 1 Capri with 1600cc engine . That one blew my mates out of the water , cost me £ 600 mid 70s . Now drive a boring , but reliable Hyundri i10 , but , will never replace the fun of claiming the bragging rights of owning the best car at that time . That still friend now owns a top of the range Beamer , however he does not forget us bump starting him , foot on the clutch , get speed and foot off .

I think it may have been. It was the car that was always parked in Weaver’s Yard, Cwmbwrla that the driving examiners asked if you could see to assess your eyesight. It was the same one every time so you could have turned up blind and passed the test. It was a standing joke in school in the late 70s. It’s imprinted in my memory!
