Bucha massacre 01:54 - Dec 23 with 14872 views | deanscfc | Reluctant to start anything more about Russia's invasion of Ukraine but I feel that this particular subject needs attention. Remember when a handful of people here did their best to try and deny Russia's war crimes in Bucha? Well here is the NY Times investigation into what happened. As conclusive as it gets with video footage, audio, images, call history etc. Of course it won't be a surprise to any normal person, but I do think that those who tried to spread Kremlin propaganda should be shamed for it. I would say 'ashamed', but they won't be, as you have to already have something quite wrong with you to support Russia in this. Investigation here. 30 minute video and report: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/12/22/video/russia-ukraine-bucha-massacre-takeaways [Post edited 23 Dec 2022 1:54]

Bucha massacre on 12:09 - Dec 26 by felixstowe_jack | Amazingly drones have reached Russian airbase 100s of miles inside Russian. On both occasions Russia "claimed" the drones were shot down by Russian Air defence system but falling debris from the drones killed service personnel on the ground. It is a bit of an Amazing coincidence that has happened twice from only two attacks. It has only happened once despite 10,000s of missile and drones attacks on Ukraine by Russian when one missile fell in Poland. Perhaps a more believable explanation is that the drones hit their target in Russia. |
Putin is now claiming it was the ball from Harry kanes penalty finally crashing back to earth.

Think how f*cked up it is that when Russia doesn't even try to hide what it is, we have people here in the West that try to pretend that Russia somehow isn't so bad.

If enough were willing maybe but the mindset of the Russian is deeply ingrained in its history and most based on power and superiority , difficult to concede. The Romanian revolution 33 years is an example of how a communist regime as deeply embedded in the country's political outlook could be brought to an end by its people , a messy and some would say, inconclusive end

It was easier to hide and plot back then, thse days all our electronic communications are monitored, there are cameras and listening devices everywhere and ordianry post gets intercepted. We are the most vastly spied on society, globally speaking, in history. They know where we are, who we're with and what we talk about. Specially true in Russia.

What more can we do? We’ve helped train their soldiers, we’ve sent them billions in weapons during a time our country is skint. We support them with intelligence, we even let them win the Eurovision Song Contest.

A reminder, as he says it better than I could.
Still, we (the West) are pathetically weak in our support as Russia escalates its attacks on civilians. Debates over whether to send 12 tanks ffs given what is happening. We should have been mass producing modern tanks and sending hundreds of them many months ago. We should have been sending the best air defence systems. The financial cost is nothing compared to the cost of Ukraine losing this war.

The West can't produce them fast enough. Ukraine needs heavy artillery shells and even the US can't make them quickly enough. Russia is degrading the Ukranian military and it's infrastructure. Whatever we send won't make any difference, they cannot win Russia is still sending the missiles it didn't have a few weeks ago, and is still in the war that it lost a few months ago

Russia is still targeting civilians committing more war crimes and has not gained any territory since September. Even their missile attacks on civilians or irregular as they cannot produce enough missile due to lack of high tech parts from the West. Instead they rely on inaccurate drones, with a very low payload from, the other terrorist state Iran. Russia still cannot defend its own air basis deep inside Russia and suffered a huge number of army casualties recently because their soldiers were using mobile phones. Meanwhile the Russian economy crashes. They are running a huge financial deficit as both oil and gas prices crash and the West no longer needs Russian gas or oil.

They have plenty of missiles. They are the world's second biggest arms exporter. They use cheap drones to draw out the Ukranian air defences then senf the real missiles over. Russia has the worlds best air defences. Yes,some get through , but that's not unusual

A mild european winter has stalled so far put paid y to Putins plan to freeze the west , with every passing month the EUs dependency on russian gas becomes less and with it the much needed dollars to feed his very much faltering war effort Non-oil and gas revenues fell by 20 percent in October in annual terms, and almost all the growth in oil and gas revenues came from the increase in the mineral extraction tax on Gazprom. The longer the war continues the weaker russia gets, militarily, economically, and geopolitically than it was a year ago. Sanctions are biting hard ,and its estimated that 500,000 to a million have left russia many from highly skilled jobs. Even if the war finished tomorrow the impact on Russia will last for at least a decade or two and the longer it continues then the longer its recovery to pre war levels will take . Well done Putin , a true master of social & economics or how to destroy not only yours but another country on a whim.

Russia is still manufacturing as many anti aircraft missiles as the rest of the world put together, and about 3 times more than the US does. I wonder how they can do that with a failed economy?
Bucha massacre on 09:20 - Jan 25 with 1025 views | felixstowe_jack | Trouble is anti aircraft missiles are not much use in war that is being fought on the ground. More bad news for thecl Russians is that the Ukrainians will be getting the far superior Western tanks while their own tanks have been withdrawn from the battlefield. The Russian tanks based on a second World War design were easily destroyed by handheld anti tank weapons which was highlighted during their panic retreat from Kyiv.

The West does not have resources to win? The west resources dwarfs the Russian resources. It is jut a matter of getting the wheels moving. There is only one winner. Ukraine miliiary is a godsend as they take older expired Western kit soon to be upgraded. Old stock from Iraq / Afghistam. But they do not have enough time ? Russian has to fight for every square centimetre. Bakhmut already 4 months. Russian missiles? They are using air to air missiles to attach ground stations and converting intercontinental ones. Winter is half over the Ukrainian people will survive.
