We both know that you were trying to be clever. Do you condemn Trump now, as that was the point? Do you condemn the enablers and the perpetrators, or the pied piper on here who appeals to the impressionable and cognitive malfunctioning here, do you?

Do you condemn Biden and Harris now then out of interest? You were very quiet when she was urging people to donate to the bail fund to get rioters and criminals out of jail to continue the chaos and violence. Or are you completely under the spell of your peers on the other forum that happily turned a blind eye? Take your time.

Totally agree with this, Biden democrats sat back and did nothing to prevent the Capitol Hill takeover and turning police stations in to squats, and funded bail, that’s beyond question. I’m no political watcher of any type, I am and will always be an old school socialist, clear on my vision for working class people, but to describe the Capitol Hill events as ‘ protesters’ and the issues yesterday as an ‘unlawful mob’ raises eyebrows. Even for me.

Exactly. She said the following, word for word. "They're not gonna stop, and everyone beware, because they're not gonna stop," she added. "They're not gonna stop before Election Day in November, and they're not gonna stop after Election Day." "Everyone should take note of that, on both levels, that they're not going to let up – and they should not. And we should not," she concluded. Can you imagine if Trump had said anything remotely similar to this. There would be worldwide meltdown. This is without the bail fund for the rioters. Yet I’m supposed to believe these people are suddenly outraged today, after a solid year of this? Nah. Not born yesterday.

It is scary. That’s the dangers of what the Democrats and the media have done in tandem for the last year, this behaviour has become a political norm and was preached as acceptable for months on end. I said it was a dangerous path to tread long ago. But it suited people at the time so they turned a blind eye. A bit like what they are doing to the Democrat policies currently... until yet again they realise what they have allowed into the chicken coop. Too late. I remember posting about them using quick cement on exists and setting a police station on fire with the intent to burn the occupants alive inside. Nobody seemed too bothered on here and the media quickly swept in under the carpet and insisted it was peaceful while the city burned in the background. For shame. [Post edited 7 Jan 2021 14:39]

Not sure. Have they done it with the other Dem rioters? The ones who had the Portland courthouse and government stations under siege for weeks? Probably a precedent set somewhere if you can find the answer.

There are always going to be protests, about all sorts of things. And with any protest, there will be a small element of those protesting who resort to violence and vandalism. Whether it be a ‘right wing’ thing or a ‘left wing’ thing. Yesterday was not a protest. It was an attempt to overturn the democratic process of the US because the person who lost demanded it and the supporters of the person who lost can’t accept the result. They attempted to overthrow democracy with pipe bombs while wearing Nazi regalia. Biden / Harris have never called for the overthrow of democracy, or indeed or any part of democratic principles. They have supported and encouraged peaceful demonstrations against perceived police injustice towards a section of the American population (injustice that, incidentally, was absolutely once again exposed in yesterday’s events) and have, at every step, condemned any violence that has occurred. In addition they have supported the funding of bail for those arrested while on marches to defend themselves (it is extraordinarily easy on any demonstration, or in any crowd, to be entirely peaceful yet treated as though you are not and arrested - we’ve all seen that at football games). Trump after seeing what was transpiring yesterday, told those with the bombs and Nazi regalia that he loved them. Ivanka Trump who has enjoyed a prominent position within the trump administration, called them ‘Patriots’. There is absolutely no equivalence whatsoever. Which is why significant people within the Trump administration including former Chiefs of Staff and National Security Advisors and senior players within the Republican Party (including hitherto vocal supporters of Trump) have, yesterday and today, utterly condemned what happened, Trump’s incitement of what happened and his reaction to what happened. Thankfully, it’s cemented his place in the history books and hopefully prevented any other member of his crime ridden family from ever holding office again.

It’s not a football team Tramps. The Dems wear riot gear and balaclavas, they are seasoned rioters. The Republicans are new to this. So was there any prosecutions for the Portland riots and the Government building attacks? You know the one where the Democrat Governor called it the Summer of Love? Your answer is probably the same as the answer to that one. They even threw bombs at Government buildings, yet nobody seemed to bat an eyelid, including those on this thread. Trump and his supporters. on 16:17 - Jan 7 with 1406 views | ItchySphincter | More whataboutism. How about defending your heroes? People have a right to demonstrate, a right to protest. Does that include storming the Capitol Building at the orders of the commander-in-chief? Should a sitting president be inciting insurrection? That is what this is about, not what might have happened in Seattle or whatever.

I'm not sure Lisa. I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments but this is far from over for the Trump organisation. this is the man that mobilised a nation by repeatedly lying about Obama's place of birth to appeal to the racists simply because Obama was black. People who've nailed their colours to his mast are not going to stop now. The truth is irrelevant, the truth is what Trump says it is for these people.

I suspect that the law may catch up with all of them once January 20th has come and gone. There are some very real accusations around significant financial impropriety and possible money laundering activities (including some investigation here) and the role of Deutsche Bank and huge loans and where they are coming from. The idiot supporters won’t believe it of course, but that’s largely irrelevant.

It’s desperately sad that a woman who had previously served her country for such a long time could be so easily manipulated into becoming a part of an act of terrorism against that country. Very sorry for her family.

Precisely. It’s not a case of events being comparable. They’re not. Dozens of world leaders have condemned the actions of Trump and his mob. They didn’t comment on previous events (which means Dr. P would describe them as hypocrites) Why? Because Biden/Harris didn’t incite violence. Trump did. This a a much bigger world event than the BLM riots. Doesn’t make them right, but to see than as comparable is a fantasy.

Of course they are comparable, and if they are deemed not it will be due to a case of the Dems actions being significantly and demonstrably worse. Democracy being under threat is the exact reason the likes of Harris were inciting violence, the Dems Governors allowed the violence and the reason the media was allowed to lie and manipulate people. Plus not forgetting the reason the polls were off by a mile, due to the silent Trump voter. People have been intimidated for years. There was only one reason for the above. To contravene democracy and take power with intimidation and force. America has literally been under attack for a year, politicians having groups of rioters camped outside their house with demands being screamed at them all through the night. Not a single person on this thread that is now trying to make out that they are appalled have any record in calling out this behaviour. It has been enabled from day 1.
