Gillingham match thread on 16:53 - Mar 30 by Sheffdale | I think we'd all take a point. Come on Dale! |
Not best second half performance, but good valuable point gained. It's really close down at the bottom now

Gillingham match thread on 18:55 - Mar 30 with 3787 views | James1980 | Good point well earned. Great that the unbeaten run under BBM continues. Excuse my optimism but we can certainly get something get Saturday. Sunderland are good but they are not invulnerable.

Gillingham match thread on 19:02 - Mar 30 with 3742 views | jonahwhereru | Well that was hard work. No quarter asked or given by either team. No great quality either. They had our measure down the right with eaves showing a touch of class literally at times, and that was where the goal came from. Thought Lillis had no chance once Byrne got his head on it. We did link well at times and Done was involved in most of our promising passages. But we didnt look like scoring in the last 15 minutes. Everybody put in a shift. This is the first time I’ve seen JB since his return and sorry to say he still gives me the shivers. Gillingham played to his weakness. The ref was inept, some simply strange decisions for both sides. Not helped by the liners. When both sets of supporters chant you don’t know what your doing, you’ve had a shocker. Hounourable mentions EEL for his dual with eaves, Done, Olly and Jim. Mom for me was Kgosi. He sometimes looks a right good player. Now he is in regular maybe the nievaty will go from his game. The other results went well for us, And we are now resilient so there is plenty of hope still. UTD [Post edited 30 Mar 2019 20:05]

Gillingham match thread on 19:51 - Mar 30 with 3576 views | jonesy | A really well earned point. The whole team played well. A hopeless ref. Intolerant stewards. A tasty pie. Done seems to enjoy playing again. Ntlhe can't half jump for headers. Wilbrahim is a good forward. I think we can stay up if we continue to play like this. Henderson might have taken the chance near the end. Gillingham looks a dump.

Accie game is huge. Hard to see much more than a point from Sunderland and Portsmouth although I think we can cause a shock next week. Accrington starting to go in a slide and although they are no pushover at home we have a chance. Accie and Sunderland play each other midweek so hopefully we have fresher legs in both games

Agree with that. He certainly wasn't to blame for the goal, as someone claimed yesterday.

Yes absolutely no blame attached to Lillis regarding the goal - other than he didn't save it. Nobody knows if Lonergan would have saved it because he did pull off some incredible saves whilst he was here. Unfortunately this is going to happen now till the end of the season. Every goal conceded someone will claim its Lillis at fault.

Makes you wonder how many who rated Lillis weren't actually at the game? he definitely wasn't at fault for the goal... I gave him a 7.5 myself. [Post edited 31 Mar 2019 17:10]

Gillingham match thread on 17:27 - Mar 31 with 2137 views | ColDale | Always a strange place to go. We had the Bill Oddie reference again - anyone know of they make similar comments for all sides? We had the split stand which plenty of home supporters just seemed to ignore (can't imagine they all worked for the club). Restrictions in the local pubs saying home fans only. Fans kicked out for "over celebrating", with one done so aggressively without anything from what I could see to justify it with two Policemen watching completely non plussed by it. Played well, just about worth a point, could have sneaked it but the players looked absolutely dead on their feet at the end. Glad we've got a week's rest before next Saturdays game.

My son actually went to discuss the actions of the stewards with them and got no sensible answers. I believe the guy we saw being thrown out aggressively would have been quite happy just left to sit on a seat at the front, which he actually did, but was dragged up and manhandled out. If left alone I think he would have peacefully slept through the second half. I can’t help feeling some stewards enjoy throwing their weight about too much. Especially against small numbers of visiting supporters. I remember much worse treatment of a Rochdale supporter carried out a few years ago at Southend with the police again just watching.
