Wylfa - Brexit - investment. 17:26 - Sep 6 with 2719 viewspeenemunde

Another major step towards building Wylfa B has been passed and at least £12 billion of investment into Wales.

Apparently it wasn’t supposed to be like this post the vote to leave the Frankenstein project (eu).

Japan's economy, trade, and industry ministry recently (as of 2016) estimated the total cost of dealing with the Fukushima disaster at ¥21.5 trillion (US$187 billion).

£145 billion.

Trumped x 10.

What that’s got to do with Wylfa is beyond me.

Do you think Anglesey is at a high risk of having to face both a massive earthquake and tsunami simultaneously?

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Apparently it will happen when the U.K. finally leaves the eu.

The future is clean and renewable.
Wales well positioned for that.

Tory logic is tired and flawed, so ...

Tidal investment - no
Nuclear power - yes

Nothing to celebrate.
Nuclear power - no thanks.

I believe roi is nuclear free and will remain in the eu.
Also plenty of flights, as the U.K. will be building many nuclear power stations and be leaving the eu.

The company first presented their plans in 2009. Feck all to do with Brexit unless you think Brexit means we’d stop producing power.

Not keen on nuclear myself. Always carries a risk. Low likelihood but massive consequences if it does go wrong. Expensive too compared to wind (nearly twice the price to us customers). Does help with carbon targets though.

And you are desperate for things to go t*ts up, so you can say you were right.
It ain’t going to happen, Brexit will be a huge success story and that’s what the eu and idiots such as yourself are dreading.

Worth pointing out too that the government have now had to commit £5bn to to cost of this project (nearly 1/3rd) reversing a long-established policy. Brexit related? No idea but the timing of this policy change is coincidental. Why would foreign investors need extra incentives all of a sudden?

Discussed here, wiith references to the tidal laggon too https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/environment/2018/jun/04/uk-ta

I still think we’re missing a trick with tidal. Need others to somehow get a foothold in that immature market, but it’ll need govt support.

Panasonic relocate its headquarters last week with a potential loss of upto 20 jobs and brexit is destroying us. This positive news which will lead to thousands of jobs for British workers and its the old ‘it would have happened anyway’ b*llocks. This along with Hinckley point, plus the new power station being built up the steel works next year is amazing for the country and outside the EU means the work will be given to our boys. If this had fallen through today you remainers would have been all over it
