Well, for those of you remotely interested, there is now a schism in the conifa family..............
Ellan Vannin were knocked out on the final day of the group stages by a 'surprising' 8 goal swing, which included them losing 2 - 0 to barawa.
Turns out barawa's star on the day, made 1 scored 1, is a full Libyan international and was a very late call-up, so late that he shouldn't be playing in the competition.
on finding this out, the IOM lodged an appeal, as you would, conifa turned it down on spurious grounds and our lot stormed off, taking their ball with them and refusing to play their best of the worst match.
conifa have now booted the IOM out of their confederation. Splitters!
I imagine the numbers can be made up by mother Russia annexing another area of someone else's country and entering them, alongside Donetsk and south ossetia

Delighted to reveal that Orkney have been invited to join CONIFA, it would add a definite sweetness to replace the primadonnas from the Irish Sea....
Don't know what membership fully entails at the moment, or if it is something we'll actually go through with, but is certainly interesting
I see they haven't added you to the map on the web site.
Speaking of CONIFA, I wonder if the Basque Country will be added as well. On Friday they defeated (what is left of) Venezuela 4-2 although, according to BBC, their motives are rather different as they want to join FIFA and UEFA. Not sure how.

that's like going to a Jam gig and finding out that they've pulled out and been replaced by your local pub band!
Personally i think the IOM team enacted a classic Chris Bass flounce, some of the teams competing can't be expected to have the organisation of the iom or, I'm sure, Orkney.
Does this mean we can look forward to you lot being annexed by Russia, though? Just who is funding the Scottish independence movement. hmmmmmm?
