Yep...we all love Loftus Road but we are never going to attract neutrals or young fans if it stays as is… Most kids are going support teams like arsenal, spurs and chels*** because they are in the prem and have superstars playing for them, but it’s when locals are more impressed with trips to fulham and Brentford that you have problems. The facilities at Loftus road are cramped, the views often obscured/restricted, you’ll get very wet sitting in the paddocks or front of the lower loft. It looks like a right mongrel of a ground now and any new visitors are going to wonder what the attraction is?
LC stadium on 11:39 - May 16 with 3070 views | TacticalR | If they we are talking about a bond issue for the training ground, and the training ground move has got bogged down, and we nearly got relegated, the whole Loftus Road move/not move debate feels a little bit academic at the moment. On the LR houses issue can't we get in those lads from Tottenham who know how to unblock obstacles to development? LC stadium on 11:43 - May 16 with 3062 views | CliveWilsonSaid | I'm not really sure the stadium matters that much. Not in the short term. It all depends on what happens on the pitch. I'd watch a great QPR side in a fcking cow shed. Training ground, coaching and scouting is more important IMO.

LC stadium on 14:07 - May 16 with 2819 views | whittocksRs | I can't figure out Fernandes' next play; no other club in London has had quite the problems we've had securing land. After a while it starts to smell like the desire to make it happen isn't there. The Linford Christie plot would be perfect, even if transport links aren't quite as great as Loftus Road's, but I think it's a smokescreen. Fernandes and co really need to make it clear what their overall ambition is, as his legacy to this point is two relegations, a club in decline and no discernable infrastructure changes besides some expensive marketing. While we can see it could be a lot worse (pointing you, Mad Chicken Farmers of Blackburn), it's quite depressing that a seemingly failed pet project is about as good as we can hope for. Selling up would be risky for the club — who takes over? The FL clearly don't give a fck, and I imagine all sorts of unsavoury sh*ts would be interested. Not a very positive picture, and hasn't been for some time now.
LC stadium on 15:26 - May 16 with 2773 views | vegasranger | Does anyone understand this bond scheme for the training ground? Hoos seems to think the money ( 7 million or more ) will come from Rangers fans. How do you get a return on a facility that probably won't make a profit. If our owners are prepared to finance a training ground what chance a stadium? [Post edited 16 May 2017 15:27]

Big difference between them and us is the last sentence:- ‘We wanted to do a mini-bond because we are owned by our members...' I am a prime target to invest. It's a no from me. Still got a worthless share certificate somewhere.

LC stadium on 09:48 - May 16 by stevec | Forget for a minute how this would personally affect each and every QPR fan who attends matches at present, which model would actually be best for the club itself... 1) try and cope in an 18,000 cap stadium. 2) build a local 30,000 cap stadium at a cost of say £400mill, attempting to recoup the money plus interest over a 25 year period. or 3) build a 50,000 cap stadium at roughly the same cost of £400 mill but do it in Asia. Ticket sale income probably the same, but pay per view interest through the roof. Would the EFL ever sanction relocation of a club beyond Wales remaining in its League, given the global audience it would attract? One day an average size club will find out, let's hope it's not us. |
Speak for yourself........plenty of relatively cheap real estate here in Bangkok........would be great...I say it's good to be a trailblazer

LC stadium on 16:55 - May 16 with 2612 views | MedwayR | So, if I understand this potential bond issue correctly, and using a hypothetical situation: 1) Say the club went to banks and asked for £10m to be repaid over 5yrs and the banks offered loans at say 7% interest. 2) The club would offer a 5yr bond at 5% which means that raising (borrowing) the money via a bond issue would save them 2%. 3) The customer (ie us!!) would look at the market and find that the best rate on a 5yr bond is 3% and therefore the QPR bond is a good deal. However, the club would likely offer 3% in cash and 2% in other ways to keep that cash within the club, possibly offering it in 'QPR cash' or as discount against season tickets or gift vouchers for the club shop. Therefore the club can skim a little bit more off the costs of borrowing the money. If I understand it correctly it seems a decent idea, whether there will be the appetite for people to buy the bonds is a different matter and I guess will largely depend upon the details.

We backed the wrong site from day one , at the time of us starting to look I think there was 4 maybe 5 suitable sites within a Karl ready Clearence from LR , not they are all gone and we are left with the second worst option the LCC, the board wanted the option which re filled there pockets and not any one of the local Aval sites , dairy crest , the two BBC sites etc etc. They aren't going to gamble if we get to the prem in the next few seasons as we haven't even bought a piece of land let alone have planning permission for a new stadium. So the argument of well we need to be successful in the Prem to make a new stadium argument dosnt work either. They gambled big and fecked up badly , the losers in the long term will be us the fans and the club

Yeah, that seems to be the essence of it but I'm not sure why we as fans would participate, might have to increase the return to make it more appealing.

Think the idea is you'd get a better return on investment than you would with an ISA or something like that. Wouldn't just be fans, would be people looking to make some dough on their savings, which isn't easy with interest rates as low as they are. That's as I understand it anyway.

Correct - they would not just look at fans investing. Also, longer term projects like this give other investment groups some confidence that the club/company is moving forward.

TF is the Walter Mitty of chairman bar Leyton Orient every London club is moving on and we are getting left behind as per usual , everything is bullsh1t with him , dream managers, top notch academies, training grounds , new stadiums, when will people actually wake up to this clown and realise its been 6 years and from league champions and premier league we are languishing nearer bottom of the championship having spunked 200 million against the wall still at least he is learning by his mistakes
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles
