The remade Porridge was an Oscar nominated classic compared to the remade Are You Being Served that was on just before it,the 'pussy' joke was barely funny once but the BBC seemed to base the whole storyline around it
Notts County & Munto Finance would make a classic sitcom.
When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Question 21...the answer was ... XXXX XXXXXX (I am not actually revealing any names in case it breaches any Legal Issues - if you saw the episode you will know who it was) Question 22...the answer was XXXX XXXXXX again Question 23...now I know some of you put XXXX XXXXXX but you were wrong...it was XXXX XXXXXXXXX Question 24...the answer was XXXXXX XXXXXXX
Sorry I am not brave enough to give you the 3 names but I seriously cannot work out how they did not get sued for writing and broadcasting that section! If you have not seen it you have missed a classic. I don't know whether it is still available on DVD or YouTube etc. - I can't imagine it would be?
Morally I feel a great deal of sympathy for the first mentioned person as it appears he had not committed any of the offences of which he had been accused and it almost ruined his life. However putting aside the morality of the scene, as a piece of comedy writing it was pure genius!

This is one of the greatest ever British comedy moments ever. Up there with Del Boy falling through the bar and Darren's "I can still smell s*** in here" at the end of Joe singing Kathleen in the Royle Family.
If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

No Alan Partridge?
Mrs Brown's boys is just a lot of pointless swearing. If one finds that funny then sit behind the dugouts at the Crown Oil!
Back of the net!
Small grumble though - Partridge was a creation of the 90s so is he eligible for this poll? I know it was and still is ongoing but do we have a cutoff in such scenarios?

I had the same thought. Knowing me knowing you was the 90's I think. I'm pretty certain I'm Alan Partridge was early 00's.
5) The Office - training day episode is marvellous.
4) Toast - the gay porn voice over episode is just brilliant.
3) Spaced - Simon Pegg and that women who plays the overweight girl who lives next door to Jim and Barbra in the Royle Family at their most creative. The robot war episode is the best. The robot is called 'War Ba$tard'.
2) Peep Show - best line, "It's what the people want super hands". "Fook the people. The people like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis"
1) TalkingSutty in the nasty Hilly/Director scandal. His 487th post on the matter, where he challenges the Director to a fight, is a particular gem.

Phoenix nights has to be number one. Hated the office, but absolutely love the American version, that's a work of genius. Derek has to be up ther too as one of the more recent sitcoms.
