I'll bet I had worse in the New Delhi opposite the station around 1977.
And the one in Alexandra Road, and the one on Kingsway roundabout (Bombay Grill?), where I had my first curry as a kid, a madras which was a bad move. I drank about a carafe of water.
My mate said he saw a rat outside the Bombay one night, up on his hind legs, with one front paw against the door jam, puking.

The one overlooking the Kingsway Roundabout opened in the 60's, they specialised in a Tindaloo, if you dropped some on the table it would burn a hole in it. The crap they used to put up with in there, God knows what you were eating.

What was the first Curry House in Swansea, what was it called and where was it?
I believe it was on Alexandra Rd opposite the old police station, same row as the Glynn Vivian. All buildings demolished now. What it was called I don't know.
Little choice in those days. Chicken leg in a very dark curry sauce served in a white bowl.
I have been told Chopsticks House was one of the first restaurants.. and the Bombay Grill was not far from singleton pub.. and the Asian Grill was in town.

And there was the non-Indian dead posh Copper Grill - but that also had a bit of a rodent problem if I remember correctly.

The Burlington was where the Halifax bank is now. Copper grill was on the Kingsway a few doors up from Park Street if i remember. Though on another note, anyone remember the 'Ten Hong' bottom of picton arcade onto Oxford street? Could get a 3 course meal, soup, chicken curry/rice and an ice cream for £1.99 at lunchtimes.
There was a curry house in Neath called the Akash, or as it was known locally the Ashcart. Used to call there pissed up from the Lansdowne Towers on a Thursday and they used to store the spuds next to the men's pisser, everyone would be pissing over the potato's not triggering the fact that's what you were eating.
Then it was closed down twice for Typhoid, so it was called the Typhoid House, but unbelievably me included, people still went there.

What was the name of the one opposite Swansea magistrates courts on grove place.
Used to go their a lot until about 20 years ago a rumour was put about that semen had been found in a curry from their, the rumour spread like wild fire and it went from a very busy curry house to virtually deserted overnight, there was even an article in the evening post stating how "malicious gossip" had closed the place down.

Someone I used to know, lost an eye in there one night, in a fracas with some rugby people.

My memory is getting terrible, for the life of can't remember the name, but it was in Mansel street, a very popular restaurant as you say but died overnight after the rumour started
You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

My old man took me there as a kid after he'd had a "good week" on the docks (probably contraband related as he usually earned f*ck all in those days).
He ordered a mixed grill.
