He's saying his goodbyes as we speak. Thanks for the memories, you were our rock.

I agree we do seem to be making quality signings and it wasnt meant as a dig more a question as to how we "fund" transfers going forwards...the article in the Western Fail tells us we did attempt to keep Ash but without any contract improvements so we have decided not to stand in his way and let him go to his "new challenge".
Bearing in mind the slae of the club was justified as to bringing in investment to take us on is selling key players justified?
What I am asking is has Huw been given a brief if you want to spend X then you have to raise Y?

Players who have left either wanted to go or we wanted to get rid. Some were on big wages so obviously we needed them to go to bring in new. Remember players like Siggy have also had improved contracts. Add to this the Sky money does not start coming in until half way through the season. If you thought that the new shareholders were going to invest a fortune you were in cloud cuckoo land. They only own 68% of the shares so other shareholders would need match the investment. I am just happy that they are reinvesting and not asset stripping.

So, having turned down £10m we've now let him go for £9m according to this ITK journo! I was happy at £12m but would be seriously pissed off if this is true.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that the Swansea curse strikes particularly hard in this case.

I no longer see money as belonging to the club as I have in the past.

It may not make any sense but since the takeover I just see it as money that the American owners can extract as and when they see fit.

I see no evidence of a net transfer kitty at all so far. We appear to be spending less than we are receiving whilst getting most of our high earners off the books.

From what I see so far they are going to recoup their "investment" as quickly as they can whilst doing enough to keep us up thus maintaining the return on said "investment".

Agreed. The deal with Siggy was important and the new signings look good. It doesn't hide the fact that these have been more than covered by sales and getting others off the payroll. Would look to see a couple more good signings to strengthen further.

Only one person that's been on our books recently that's truly an all time great Darran, and it's a member of our coaching staff.

He lit up the pitch every time he stepped onto it.

Even in the fourth division, you could see his class.

And a complete gentleman with it.

We got some decent money for him. Excellent player for us over the years, cannot moan about him securing his future.

But there was always a mistake in him IMO.

Securing his future... Quite right.

How the hell was he supposed to do that here only earning a measly c£50,000 a week for the next two years?

Is that all?

Read somewhere, maybe here :) that he was doubling his wages by moving.

If that was wrong, i'll take my comment back.
