The thing that most made me think the guy's a prat is that he said that when he cam to Swansea he gave us what we didn't have, an international player. Must be odd for him then during every international break when he's training with the kids and half of our first team is away on international duty.

Gomis on 14:11 - Jan 19 by londonlisa2001 | oh get lost Chris. You think do you that we've promised Gomis stuff that let's him go on all media channels to talk about how unhappy he is on his ridiculous amount of money? Right you are. You're view isn't shared by the way by anyone that knows anything about the club. You are just being a complete arse for the sake of it. I've agreed with a lot of what you've said in the past couple of days about Saturday's disgrace, but you are just looking to pick fights all over this site with anyone whose fall back position isn't that everyone to do with the club is a complete bast**d. On any other day, you would think Gomis was behaving like a dickhead and would want him out of he club. |
I believe he was promised game time. I know for a fact the Directors thought Bony would be leaving and I also know for a fact that in the 2 weeks before Villareal they were training a 442 formation. I also know for a fact that Gomis should have played more this season after promising cameo’s but Bony got the nod. Bony was the striker with the jersey to lose but he wasn’t deserving of his place every single week either. It probably is about him just being unhappy with his time in Swansea in general. It’s his life and these promises were broken so we’ve given him a legitimate reason for complaint. Is he better off out now? Well that would depend on what our scouts could possibly muster up, loan market maybe?! Have you got a lot of confidence there though? Apart from Montero we’ve not had any joy from both the many leagues of South America or Eastern Europe. Why? The club needs a good kick up the ass sometimes Lisa, it’s getting painful to read your apologies.

Apologies? I simply said that the thought of Gomis being able to sue the club was ridiculous. Which it is. As you know. There's no apology there in the slightest. I don't believe that it is ever legitimate to do what he did yesterday, particularly after Saturday's debacle. There is much to criticise at the moment, but taking the side of Gomis in this is just belittling legitimate gripes that people may have. Do I have much confidence in what we'll bring in? No if the rumoured targets are anything to go by. I've said a number of times both this weekend and before that we need full backs - we are shockingly weak there. I've also said that we need a midfielder and I cannot understand why we haven't brought one in. On an unrelated note, I've argued against the nonsense that is clearly coming from the club on the stadium - it is all to do with the Americans and nothing to do with actually improving us as a club. But to jump from that to thinking Gomis is being anything other than a dick is simply barmy in my view. Irrespective of what he was promised or otherwise, he's behaving like an unprofessional spoilt brat. And his performances don't allow him to do that. The sitter he missed which would have left us with an unlikely point at Man City. The sitters he's missed in other games as well. I think he's a decent player and would like to see him grab the horns and run, but if he's going to be a bad influence in the club, forget it. The one thing that we can't criticise (and there is much wrong at the moment) is the Gomis issue. Better in my view to criticise the behaviour of the board who seem to have put everything on a standstill while they wait to see if a couple of Americans want to make them rich or not. That is the right place to point, not Gomis. It's people apologising for that that is painful, not this Gomis nonsense. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Every striker misses sitters and sitting on the bench for half a season isn't going to help.

Gomis on 14:57 - Jan 19 with 2372 views | DafyddHuw | The problem for Gomis was, when we signed him, we never expected to hang on to Wilf for the 1st half of this season. So Gomis probably expected to be top dog from the get go. Now that Wilf has gone, Gomis is gonna get plenty of chances to prove himself, so it seems a pretty pointless issue to be kicking off about. This isn't his true agenda though - he wants to hoover up loads of money on his way to a Champions League team (as if). What I find more galling than this spat is the fact that Gomis' agent said to the club last season "Lille want £8M for Gomis. He's only got 6 months of his contract left. If you let Gomis run his contract down, he'll come and sign for you, but you've got to give us the £8M that should go to Lille". That should have been enough to warn the club about the type of person they were taking on board. Very disappointed in the club. They should have said "Thanks but no thanks" and looked elsewhere. Trouble is, when you lose your moral compass and play in the dirt, you end up getting dirty.
Gomis on 15:28 - Jan 19 with 2314 views | VetchitBack | I think there may be legs in the "4-4-2 till Villareal" theory. But I still think his comments are ridiculous given he's got nearly half a season to prove us worth to the world. Maybe if we played Oliveira instead of him till the end of the season THEN he may have cause for complaint. Bizarrely timed.

I agree to an extent, but normally those sitters are interspersed with scoring ! Great goal against Arsenal, but 1 league goal (I would credit him with 2, because the West Ham goal was to all intents and purposes his), isn't a good return. I would like to see him stay, he's a decent player, but he's not good enough to be playing these games in my opinion. And he's actually played quite a few times. QPR was a case in point - didn't grab the chance, Bony comes on and rescues a point with a worldy. Now I don't expect him to work miracles from the bench, but he's talking as though he's Costa and he isn't!

Whoa now... Since he's been the main man (only one game of note, I know) he's been exceptional. The West Ham performance was as good a leading the line performance you'll ever see and as good as any of Bony's big games for us. He did what we are crying out for someone to do with us - literally pick the team up by the scruff of the neck and carry us on. Superb he was.

I thought he played really well against West Ham. Less so on Saturday although Messi would have struggled. I am disappointed therefore that he hasn't taken this opportunity and run with it. Instead, he's decided we are over a barrel and tried to screw us for more money (which is what I suspect he's trying to do). Poor form from him.

He's 29 years of age, several clubs in for him, so why sign for us when we play one at top and our one striker is our star player who pretty much no one was budging from first XI. He was more than likely promised games for him to choose us. Fair play to him, he could of easily just kept picking up his pay packet, but he wants to play, and now realises we probably need him more than he needs us. He isn't Swansea through and through like us lot, he is giving Monk etc a bit back.
