Laudrup to QPR on 18:06 - Feb 25 by Uxbridge | Well, my thoughts on that particular topic are known, however in the interests of balance it should be pointed out that the figures taken out are still relatively small (the equivalent of a 12 week Zaha loan fee) and their combined renumeration apart from dividends over the last 10 years is less than Karren Brady was paid for the last year by West Ham. I'm not a fan of the divi payments but such things should be put in context, and they are not incompatible with the argument that way more often than not their decisions are made in the best interests of the club. Laudrup fans may disagree but the evidence is looking pretty strong so far that his departure has helped. It's sad that the "owned by fans and run by fans" mantra no longer holds true for many though, and there are a fair few reasons for that. |
Good post, though I feel that overall we are one of the most democratically run clubs in the country. I'd rather see our current set-up than have a multi-millionaire of any persuasion using us as his plaything at sacking managers and staff at will

Mmmmmm slight logic flaw there - did ML confirm that he had authorised Tutu to say that even if that was his opinion? On the basis of not jumping to assumptions

Sorry must have missed it. Recall some of your literary greats like Tw*t - normally hidden in Dazza's shadow. However nothing of substance except possibly suggesting I wanted the team to lose - epic fail there. Was one of our most vocal supporters cheering the team on when they went 2 down on Sunday. Perhaps you think that was delight at losing? There were certainly a fair number of Liverpool supporters amongst us cheering their team on. Don't judge others by your own standards. Although judging by the lack of leadership on the pitch pre Feb 4th I must admit to similar fleeting thoughts of sabotage. Still good to see the sulking seems to have stopped.

Laudrup to QPR on 19:27 - Feb 25 with 1752 views | exiledclaseboy | What a strange thread. How many other manager sackings make it as far as the High Court? Will this one? Will it f*ck. Will Laudrup sue Jenkins for "defamation"? Will he f*ck. Will this get settled between lawyers for the two parties who will come to an agreement on behalf of their clients. Of course it will. I know for a fact that at least one fully qualified and practising solicitor has posted on this thread. Guess who it isn't.

No. I'm sure that Laudrup's friend and agent of more than 20 years standing decided to publically chastise his clients employers entirely of his own free will.

Well I'd never have guessed that, except for where I guessed that a page or so ago. Where you will recall I also enquired as to your specialised subject; no doubt you'll forgive Exlied, who apparently hasn't grasped that different lawyers do different types of work.

To be fair, I wasn't referring to Swanny. If she is indeed a fully qualified and practising solicitor that means that two such people have posted on this thread.

I've been saying it for a couple of weeks now, thousands of managerial sackings in my lifetime but I' I can't ever remember a fuss like this. And I wholeheartedly agree with you absolutely nothing will happen as much as Shaky,Sproutty and TDH want it too.

You miss the point I was making that a "fully qualified and practising solicitor" may or may not have something to add to the discussion depending on his/her specialisation. A partner in corporate law at Allen & Overy would be handy, some divorce lawyer not so much.

Pfft - not guilty, just interested in pointing out the bleedin' obvious.....ie there are two sides to every story and as is proved by the Leon Knight episode.....we mostly get to know the square route of fudge all. As long as my team continue to play with fight and commitment, I am happy to stand four square behind the current board.

Logic flaw????? - Bayram is his agent. That's right, a paid employee of his. In response Mr Laudrup responded that it was nothing to do with him. He also made reference that Bayram is his agent at Hilton T4. Spratty your normally quite balanced (despite what others think) but to infer what you just said is pretty blinkered IMO. Suppose it's a case of agreeing to disagree on this one

Normally, you'd be right, Laudrup using his agent to create the illusion of plausibility of denial. However, his agent is batshit certified f***ing loopy, so it may be Laudrup hasn't instructed him with regards to public comments.

Yes, but he openly called Huw a liar, something he hasn't been able to back up. How Laudrup never came out and publicaly denounced those comments made against his employer has left a bad taste in my mouth . He deserved to go over that

It truly amazes me that people still think (or choose to believe) that agents agitate against clubs without the players/managers they represent knowing anything about it. Do they honestly think that Neil Taylor knew nothing about Jamie Moralee deciding to hint about him wanting a move if he doesn't play more games? Or that Tutumlu made public statements about our dealings with Laudrup without clearing it with him first? Tutumlu was Laudrup's shield. The proxy he used to be critical in public whilst avoiding having to do the dirty work himself.
