Two Definitely Missing At Loftus Road
Thursday, 5th Feb 2015 15:37

Ronald Koeman has confirmed that he will definitely be missing two players from his squad that he was hoping to have at his disposal on Saturday against Queens Park Rangers.

Ronald Koeman has confirmed that Toby Alderweireld will not be quite ready to face QPR in West London on Saturday, although the Belgium International defender has trained this week, he is not quite ready for his comeback and the midweek game against West ham will also come a little too soon.

“Toby need maybe one week more. He will not reach the West Ham game next Wednesday but normally the next one, Liverpool at home, he will be available.”

That is a blow for Saints, but to counter that they will have Morgan Schneiderlin and Victor Wanyama back and that will help ease the pressure on Koeman's injury ravaged squad of late.

But another not available will be Filip Djuricic, whose work permit wont have come through in time to make him available for this game.

Koeman said.

“He’s waiting for his work permit and normally he will get it tomorrow and then he’s coming back, but not for this Saturday,” reported Koeman.

“After signing the deal he went back and he’s waiting three or four days for his work permit.

“I got some info this morning that normally he can come back tomorrow afternoon and then start training.”

A disappointment for the travelling Saints supporters who although not expecting the Serbian to start were hoping he would add options on the bench for Koeman, however Saints should have enough attacking players with Elia and Sadio Mane able to offer support to Graziano Pelle in the attack.

That makes four with Ryan Betrand suspended and Shane Long injured.

Nick sloppy reporting, fancy forgetting Long and Bertie! But Morgan and bid Vic back is a massive boost.
I reckon by the end of the season we'll have a squad fit for Europe, adding Jay and Sam into the squad again.
