Am I right in thinking there was a long thread on here bemoaning our injury situation? |

A mist opportunity, great heading. |

Fair comment. And we were only allowed one sub in those days! The game is a whole lot faster these days and I’m struggling to remember the last time a second division club made it to the FAC final. |

I’ve been happy to give him time, not least he’s the only player who’s managed to get a tune out of Celar. That said, he makes the same mistakes week after week and never seems to learn, perhaps he just doesn’t listen as I’d imagine he’s picked up on it. He’s not a full back and I fear he’d be another of those Queens Park Rangers who you can watch season after season and never work out exactly where’s best to play them. That diagram usually suggests that they’re playing in the wrong league. |

I think the Langley/Carlisle season remains fresh in a lot of our memories. Can’t say that one cup game resulted in three years in League One, but it didn’t help and it certainly sealed the lid on our most terrible season. It’s not just that these players slog through match after match and inevitably get tired, it also means they spend less time on the training ground and in the gym. It’s a recipe for all the injuries we’ve already seen this season. I don’t blame Marti, I do blame the structure of a 24 team division and those who preside over it. |

Handy game to have half way through the season. An opportunity to evaluate what needs to be moved on and what to keep, in a competitive match, but without the pressure of points to be gained or lost and league tables. Confirmation if nothing else, that Madsen isn’t and never will be good enough, Ashby is never more than 90 minutes away from a calamity and Saito, as likeable as he is, is John Delve status at absolute best and is only a bench player. All in all, look at it as a positive day for the club. |

Really not bothered. It just reinforces the massive gap between a shit premier league side and a mid table Champs side. Marti done the right thing playing half a side, they need a fckin rest whether we like it or not. |

I so wanted him to be good and become Captain. |

Went and saw Conclave yesterday. Good actors, good acting but the film is utter b*llocks. An out and out tick box job designed to get as many Oscar nominations as possible. By the end the script had literally disappeared up its own …, well I don’t want to spoil the story for anyone who wants to see it. Expect it to do well during the awards season. |

It would explain why the BBC are covering it so extensively. From a bit of snow in the UK to wildfires in the US, they hang in there with a view to push the climate change agenda. They know people are sick of the full frontal approach so have moved onto this cause and effect scenario in the hope we’re too blindsided to realise. I am really tired of our establishment bludgeoning us into submission with this constant psychological warfare. Not just climate change, a whole range of things. |

As I recall we’ve had a number of bums from Oz, in fact I’m struggling to remember a successful one. Think Ned Kelly was the first of many, they all came full of eastern promise, no more thanks. |

It’s improved significantly since we had movement up front instead of Celar and movement in midfield largely due to Morgan’s addition. With movement comes space. First 15 games the lack of presence up front allowed back lines to push up and lack of movement off the ball in defence and midfield made it very simple for oppos to close us down as far as our own area. Unnecessary two touch becomes one touch and miraculously you start looking like a football team. |

The problem with Frey is how long will he stay fit. We can’t have a disappearing act for half of every season, especially as lone striker. Definitely decent when he is on call though. |

Wasn’t there a particularly good one against spurs I think. Ball boy doing keepy uppys in front of a spurs player near the corner flag then kicking it into the crowd. Might have been the same game but up the other end where Gareth Bale went half way up the lower loft to retrieve the ball as the fans wouldn’t give it back. Fun times |

I’m trying to imagine what it’s like going to Hull. Not just for football, I mean any time of year. |
