A brilliant analysis of where our club is at the moment Clive. Although I still support the owners I too think they are making a lot of mistakes. I think also that they and us have got lucky with Warburton. We are now playing some brilliant football & he has achieved that with massively reduced resources. He should be rewarded with a long term contract. Although we are talking the talk we don't just turn into a well run club like Brentford overnight. I am still not convinced that we have a decent Youth or Scouting scouting set up that will produce a conveyor belt of players for the future. This is vitally important if we are going to put players up for sale as soon as they look remotely decent as looks likely to be the case . Eze and BOS have not even had a whole season in the 1st team but it looks like they will still be sold due to nessecity. If staying out of League 1 is the reality for the foreseeable future the club needs to be straight about this and make moves to cut prices & bring back the atmosphere to Loftus Rd. At the moment they are trying to have it both ways saying we are being financially prudent and patiently building a team ..selling everyone half decent every season & replacing them with younger cheaper players is not building a new team it is just attempting to stay in the League there is a massive difference.

Totally agree with your comments about Gary Penrice. If you read Olly's autobiography..They go back to when they were players at Bristol Rovers & then later as a manager at the club..you can see his input with the new signings from the lower leagues & how good does it feel to be doing this again!! Sinton from Brentford ;Seamen from Birmingham City, Sinclair from Blackpool, Parker from Fulham (when they were like 3rd division..list goes on and on ...

Absolutely brilliant article which highlights the current shambles and lack of planning at our football club. When you compare our lack of a youth set up and a scouting system with Southampton it is truly scary.

Thanks Clive, you have an uncanny knack of always putting into words what we are all feeling.
Although some are saying that there has been an over reaction to HR I really don't agree; the signs have been there for ages- yes we went up last season and all had one of the best days of our life at Wembley but let's be honest we were lucky. There were numerous games where we were dire; Charlton, Wednesday, Bournemouth, Blackburn away and not to mention all the games against the top teams. And now he thinks it acceptable to play Richard Dunne on his wrong side against a pacey Spurs team!
As you say he remains stubbornly routed to the bench- I don't believe that he has anything much to say but you are right he could at least show some solidarity with his team. He will no doubt be making some use of his tombola machine but some things will never change- certain players will remain untouchable whilst others will be frozen out. Maybe he will see the light with Dunne but don't ever expect to see chief picked ahead of Ferdinand.

I fully expected to lose on Sunday but the manner of the defeat was truly abject.To watch an unfit team with no self belief and all clearly struggling with Harry's brave new world of 352 was worse than embarrassing. Now the wingers seem to be have been made surplus to requirements and Adel sulks and trains on his own I wonder yet again who is going to provide any creativity within the team?

Another workmanlike performance and a quality goal from Austin- totally agree with Marshy we look so much better with AJ up there with Austin but seems like Harry is reluctant to give him more than 15 minutes or so. Not only would AJ score some goals but he would also free up some space for Austin who is having to do a ridiculous amount of donkey work on his own up front. The question for me is can we do this and still have Kranjcar starting? Imo he has been pretty poor in the last 3 games at Burnley, Reading and yesterday- he doesn't cover much ground andat the moment is not scoring or setting up chances. I am no doubtinghis qualitybut for me he does not look remotely match fit yet and we look a much more effective teamwith 2 strikers.
