Someone told me today that Billy scored the winner for Doncaster against Yorkshire rivals Bradford on Saturday. Flippin Henry, if that's right the guy must be in his 40's by now!
Will always remember his time with us, scored some vital goals and gave the impression he would run through brick walls for Saints. |

Watford FA Cup replay at home last season, they couldn't lay a glove on him, pure class. I agree he needs to start against Newcastle (who in turn are unlikely to have done their 'homework' on him). Is Russell brave enough? |

...one year on and I remember being at Loftus Road watching the young Shearer and Paul Rideout filleting the QPR defence in a 4-1 massacre. With both Micky Adams and Raymond Wallace out injured, we started that game with our two reserve full backs, Messrs J.Dodd & F.Benali.
The rest, as they say, is history. |

Luckily you weren't at the away game at Sunderland, March 1978, I was at Durham Uni at the time and hooked up with a dozen or so Saints fans who'd travelled up from the New Forest that morning. They had about two overcoats between them as the icy gales seared into Roker from the North Sea.
'It wasn't this cold in Ringwood yesterday' said the girl sitting next to me as her lips started to turn blue. |

Always thought JS was more suited to play as a defensive midfielder, his distribution out of defence was always v good and plays the ball FORWARD and to feet, but that might not suit the RM style of play |

If RM 'doesn't trust' Charley, then why even name him as sub? I suspect so he can leave him on the bench all match to show Charley who's the boss. I agree with Pat, this is a 'lose-lose' scenario all round. |

On a positive note, at least 0-1 didn't further pulverise our goal difference. The way things are going, that might be crucial if we are going to stay in this division as I can't see us getting anything out of our final game at Leeds! |

...and the icing on the cake is a text I've just had from a mate who's a season ticket holder at Cheltenham, and the end of the game there today, the home fans massively turned on their team and booed them off the pitch! Not sure many people on here will remember a certain FRANK SAUL has to be right up there with the worst, I think he signed for us as part of the deal that took Big Chiv to Spuds. Never saw a player fall over so much as dear old Frank :( ! |

If you believe that the SR strategy is to nurture young talent for eventually selling on to improve the balance sheet, then why not put in the starting squad for the last few games the likes of Dom Ballard, Tyler Dibling and Lewis Payne.
I appreciate the Alan Hansen mantra that 'You can't win anything with kids', but we're not winning anything with the adults, so what is there to lose? |
