| News Comment | Southampton Tout Sulemana To European Clubs at 13:46:10
You know my feelings, I think this would be a huge mistake. We at last appear to have a manager who believes in him and will encourage him to perform as he did in the cup. Should at least be given a chance with a decent strike partner. |

I think Sulemana was by far our best player. He showed what he can do, albeit against a championship side. The question is, if he were a consistent starter and we had a reliable scoring centre forward, could he carry that form into the PL. I think he deserves the chance. Sports Republic need to get their finger out and sort out the second part of that but he appears to have the manager's confidence. Good to see Will Smallbone back but I thought he looked well off the pace and made at least one mistake that could have been costly in other company. Lets see what happens against United. We are well overdue some unbiased officiating and hopefully the win has done wonders for confidence. |

Sulemana was probably our best player in the first half although admittedly not a particularly high bar. He has also been more effective in terms of dangerous crosses than anyone else in the odd 10 minutes has been allowed but you appear far too blinkered to see this sadly. Totally agree with SanMarco and HythePeer. It seems to me that Sports Republic's total incompetence is largely to blame for our position, poor managerial appointments, poor recruitment and keeping Rasmus in charge. From what I saw the players are now totally dispirited and lacking in confidence. I do not subscribe to the view that the players are not good enough to survive in the PL. I think the above, some criminal officiating and the suicide tactics adopted by the previous manager are the reasons why we are where we are. Really hope Rasmus is sacked and we buy a decent striker in the window but not confident that SR have the balls and where with all to do either. |

Never mind another Defender what's happening regarding the Corinthian striker that we were in the frame for in the summer. Are Sports Republic watching different games to the rest of us. |

Oh and BBD is not the answer, the fact he has never been on the winning side in a PL game tells you all you need to know. |

Absolute claptrap Nick, in each of the last few games Sulemana has played he has crossed to create a scoring chance (one more than the rest of the team combined except KWP) though sadly they have been scorned by our strikers. Perhaps if he were given more than the odd 10 minutes he would create more. Ideally we should play Onachu and Archer together as the latter could feed off the formers hold up play. Fernandes is unavailable due to a sucession of biased referees who have failed to protect him whilst booking him for much less serious offences. |
| News Comment | Southampton V West Ham United The Verdict at 12:26:23
Well half the crucial awful decisions that Sports Republic made at the beginning of the season have been reversed with the removal of our previously inept manager. They now need to sort out the other one and recruit a decent forward who can really put away some goals, possibly the Corinthians striker. If this happens I still think we can stay up. Interesting to see THB playing so far forward during the game. I agree it would have been better to have started Archer rather than Armstrong although I do wonder whether he is being rested for Sunday. Thought the officials were again poor yes the red card should have been reversed but numerous niggly challenges were allowed to be made by West Ham without punishment. Think the guys who are continually slagging off Sulemana are watching a different game to me. In all the last few games when he's been allowed the odd 10 minutes he's put in a decent cross which with better strikers would have resulted in a goal. The only concern I have is that under RMs approach he was encouraged to turn backwards instead of trying to beat his man more often. |

Hope all had a good Christmas, I would like to see Sulemana given a run with Onachu in the centre and ideally Archer feeding off him. Lets see, COYS |

Agree with most of that Underweststand although I would still like to see Sulemana on with Onachu. Actually although the ref was again biased, the foul was just outside the penalty area I think. Some good signs and much more fight, such a shame SR didn't sack the arrogant one much earlier. We are going to have a plethora of good defenders with ABK not frozen out too now. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Liverpool The Carabao Cup Verdict at 16:42:37
As you say Colburn the officiating was again a disgrace surely the linesman saw something it was hard to miss in truth, unless you hadn't agenda. Sadly the FA, who appear to be just as corrupt as FIFA, are completely uninterested in sorting it out so the Premier League continues on its corrupt way. The second half performance gave some cause for hope and I agree we're not quite relegated as yet but a good manager appointment is needed. I was disappointed to not see the Sulemana and Sugawara start and I thought they had a great impact on the game when they came on albeit too late. Perhaps if the previous incumbent fool had used them and Onachu we might not be in the mess we are in. |
| News Comment | Southampton FC Sack Russell Martin at 09:06:13
At last. Not that it made any difference to the result but the referee and VAR was again incredibly biased missing a clear handball on the edge of the spurs penalty area and failing to disallow their goal after the clear foul on KWP. Performances were dreadful, why did Downes let a player stroll past him and why did Manning not track the tosser Maddison for the first goal. Complete failure to compete after that. Martin’s decision to remove Sulemana was laughable, at least he has some pace unlike Armstrong who was dreadful. Our delivery from set pieces was consistently dreadful. The shame is you could see Fernandes and Dibling becoming frustrated. Really need to bring in a quality manager and persuade Tyler to sign an extended contract. |
