The behaviour on coach trips is also one of Marti's issues. Saito keeps asking 'are we there yet?' and Colback constantly asks to stop at the next services because he needs a wee wee |

Has anyone else noted that Kelman's improvement has coincided with Orient signing The Dominator...? No? Just me then. Come back, Dom. We miss you and Colback has a scary haircut. |

At the tail end of last season, Cook was immense for us. The received wisdom on senior players is that they offer intangible benefits to the side based on experience and I think that has been clear for all to see in Cook's case. The risk, however, is how you balance the benefits of wisdom against mitigating the physical decline of the player. Boxing has the phrase 'he got old in the ring' for when a champ, still a big draw with a great record, goes up against a challenger who basically retires him when his body just can't keep up. I don't want to see the footballing equivalent here with Steve Cook. He can still talk a good fight but I think we need to let him go before he becomes a shadow of his previous self. I actually think he'll become a really good coach if he decides to stay in football. He gets the best out of those around him and I'd love him to be able to pass on that solid professional knowledge to the next generation. [Post edited 16 Mar 14:27]

Based on a complete lack of evidence, I propose we start a series of unfounded rumours. Alfie Lloyd isn't allowed to talk to Kieron Morgan after their mums fell out at the Bingo. Nicholas Madsen's pet axolotl, Marvin, is fighting for his life against amphibian flu. No-one has seen Sam Field's car keys, so stop asking. Michael Frey won't stop whistling songs by J-Pop group Haku, accompanied by knuckle cracking and armpit fart noises. |

The more I reflect on the match, the better I think it was. Firstly, I think that Marti put one over Farke with the midfield selection: Colback and Edwards were busier and snappier than our recent central pairings and both broke up attacks higher up the field. Secondly, that selection ensured we were a lot more dangerous in their box, and secure in ours, with 4 x CBs on the park plus Frey up front. Finally, having the stones to drop Yang and play Smyth gave us a lot more aggression in the press. Both our goals came from pressure leading to a turnover. Without these changes, I honestly think we'd have ended up battered by half time. |

The difference between this afternoon and Tuesday's game is staggering. Against easily the strongest team we've faced in weeks, we looked properly up for it. A really good point gained. Well done Rs. |

Really interesting first half. Saito is so much more effective than Yang. Got his foot in and supported Colback and Paal brilliantly. Ronnie looked comfortable in the middle too: reminiscent of playing Steve Palmer in front of Dan / Clarke, way back when. |

Never watched Game Of Thrones but read all the books. Someone once described the series as similar to watching Lord Of The Rings but switching channels to hardcore porn every 25 mins. Also, haven't watched Luther, The Sopranos, Breaking Bad or Mrs Brown's Boys. |

Yang is beginning to irritate me. We're not quite at Michael MacIntyre-levels yet but we're getting close. |

Thanks for that, Norf. It was a difficult game to watch: I doubt it would be any easier to write up! I thought at the time that we were struggling to Huff, let alone Puff, and certainly weren't going to be blowing anyone's house down playing like that. Time-wasting? Based on the way we played, I'd say we wasted more time than them. Not a great game but there's always jam tomorrow. |

I was disappointed with the performance yesterday but was, frankly, gobsmacked by the team selection and was not surprised by the result. Someone pointed out that our front four had a combined height of 12' 4", roughly equivalent to 145 hamsters standing on each other. Based on our cutting edge yesterday, may I suggest we give the hamsters a go next time? |
